Thats why i cant stand the NFL as a league. Too many fukking rules. By that i mean in the game and as a league

NBA >>>> NFL
In the NBA you can't even touch an OPP without it being a foul...Basically, if a player is a good shooter with a strong will, there is NO WAY of EFFECTIVELY defending that player...

I HATE that...

You wanna discuss the NFL and all the rules they have "protecting" QBs? :beli:

It's absolutely disgusting to me how it's so automatic in the NFL for anyone deemed "QB" is untouchable. Technically you have 21 football players and 1 untouchable diva on the field at all times. If you're gonna disallow hard hits ban it for all players, period. If the QB wears pads and a helmet like everyone else on the field I should be able to hit him just like EVERYONE ELSE ON THE FIELD

Word. They might as well just put a white picket fence around all QBs and call it a fukking day. You can't even lay a finger on these fukking QB's without seeing a flag being thrown and hearing "Personal Foul: Playing defense against a Quarterback. 30 yard penalty. Automatic first down."

Next season: "The NFL has now banned sacks. The QB must now wear pink flags adorned with tulips and the defensive players must grab the flag, only using the pointer finger and the thumb, and must gingerly remove said flag."

Sheez, with the athletes today hitting harder, being faster, and bigger I dont think no face mask would be a good idea. How would that make the sport safer? Im curious why he said that. Did he say why? :lupe:
Wondering the same thing myself.

The D (where it's so cold)
no advantage ?
you already said it's impossible to grab, i mean it's not an advantage i'll give you that-but you're not gonna get someone facemasking you and twisting your neck all outta shape. that's preventive measures :troll:
it's just safety :manny:

Yeah, that was dumb on my part. While I was typing that I was thinking advantage in terms of how the Bane facemask could be used as a weapon like leading with the facemask causing injury with no fear of a finger or something coming at you. I didn't even realize the mask being harder to grab was already an advantage itself, you're right the prevention of neck twisting is a definite edge. You can still do it but now it takes a little effort.

Actually I like this ruling. Players are too protected in regards to their face...encourages them to use their head as weapons. Ditka says take away the facemask away totally.

:what:

using their facemasks as a "weapon" has never been an issue, it's using the crown of the helmet.

You're taught to hit what you see and quite honestly, hitting someone with the front of ur facemask is natural. These masks actually help players, particularly d-linemen from getting their facemask grabbed.

The Yay
Any change that makes the game even a little less entertaining I'm probably gonna look down on.
Im all for celebrations, but this is :snoop: because of people like you the NFL is becoming more and more like arena league with every new season.

Exactly!

My sentiments about this issue has always been the following:

If the mofo:
  • is on the field like everyone else
  • is wearing protective padding like everyone else
  • is wearing helmet like everyone else
  • THEN he should be able to get hit like everyone else. END OF STORY
