My point is, if you televise their game in Week 11 it’s pretty safe to assume that the rematch only two weeks later isn’t going to generate the same type of draw ratings-wise. Like, where's the luster for that game?

Sure, people want to see Denver….just not playing the same team again barely two weeks later.

If it was spread apart - like, 5 or more weeks - or if one game was Sunday night and the other Sunday afternoon, that would be one thing. But exactly two weeks later in the SAME Sunday night slot? Nah.....

your right, but what other game would you rather see that week on primetime? that's the issue

That means nothing. They make these rules to prevent redundancy and to make you buy Sunday Ticket. I know, it sucks, huh?

they strong armed CBS out of protecting the first chiefs denver matchup. Again they make the rules they can break them change them as they go. We need to get the best matchups on TV for ratings and more money for the networks. That's what it's all about.

redzone >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> sunday ticket

Monday is impossible because you're asking everyone to possibly move the entire operation up a day. That creates more headaches than it solves

i agree with monday, but what the nfl should do is besides the monday night games is starting in week 10 schedule the games but give a tenative start time and create the schedule like that. do the 1 pm games 4 pm games and sunday games. That way games can't be protected by networks and youre free to schedule them as you please to whatever network they fall under

Also why does every game you want flexed involve the broncos, colts, or packers

And you didnt even add Carolina/Saints as one of the flex games(they play weeks 14 & 16)

First thing I noticed. Nobody wants to watch the same primetime matchup twice in a three week span :camby:.

They pretty much already do this. The event is subject to change is put on tickets to prepare for the flex scheduling. The National Schedule on the other hand, you're really gonna ask channels to not know what game they might have? That's retarded.

You trying to flex games that may or may not even matter in 7 weeks is funny, but you can't mess with the schedule like that. Too much shyt goes into it (despite you wanting to break every rule). For example, the Giants and Jets can never play at the same time unless they're playing each other (so because of even smaller shyt like that, you can't just schedule Sunday on a whim)

At the end of the day, if CBS wanted to keep Broncos/Chiefs, they could have. CBS basically said "we'll give you the first matchup, but NOT the second one" Rules didn't get broken or made up. Games are protected to a) cap the # of games a team can have nationally and b) to protect the channels. Why in the world would FOX and CBS voluntarily sign up to get screwed over for any game? They're gonna protect their asses.

:patrice: wonder what the price tag was for this...Or is there some sort revenue sharing already built-in between the networks for flex scheduling....

well cbs and fox would still know what games they have, just not the times. we know all nfc vs nfc is fox and afc vs afc is cbs. when nfc plays at afc its fox and when afc plays at nfc it's on cbs. you would factor in giants and jets not being allowed to play at the same time and the better matchup get's the later slot. the nfl negociated with CBS to give the game up, as the nfl will do something for them next year. Remember these networks PAY THE NFL to show their games on their stations. If they piss the nfl off they can easily move the games to ABC or another competing station once the contract is up.
