Darrell Green had more career INTs and more than twice as many tackles. All the other defensive stats are near equal. (Pro Football Reference):childplease:

Deon was a difference maker on offense and ST tho.:ehh:

QB's wouldnt even attempt to throw in Deion's vicinity unless they were on a suicide mission, which obviously impacted INT stats and whatever.

Deion is on the short list of greatest athletes ever, and as high of an opinion as he had of himself, he probably was better than even HE thought he was. Deion was incredible

Can't I just be a Redskins stan without folks dropping useless things such as facts and stats on me? :troll:

Nah really tho, after further research (particularly the duration of both of their careers) I concede the edge to Deion.

An I know Prime played for us, but he was just there for a paycheck at that point in his career

:dahell: Again, ima ask.. so the cowboys offense with troy aikman and michael irvin, 2 hall of famers, was ran only through Emmit Smith ? :dahell:

Rushing:
92-95 emmit smith
rushing yards: 6456 yards on 1401 carries

99,00,04,05 edgerrin james
rushing yards: 6316 yards on 1450 carries

Emmith had 50 less carries and 150 more yards :usure:

Since you wanted to use from scrimmage (because Edgerrin James was taking passes from Peyton fukking Manning, lets take a look at those numbers as well)

Receiving:
92-95 Emmith Smith
receiving yards: 1465 yards on 228 catches

99,00,04,05 edgerrin james
receiving yards: 2000 yards on 220 catches

Total yards
92-95 Emmit Smith
total yards: 7921 yards with 1629 total touches of the football

99,00,04,05 Edgerrin James
total yards: 8316 yards with 1670 total touches of the football

Edgerrin James had 40 more touches of the ball in a 4 year span than Emmit Smith, but claim the cowboys offense was ran through Emmit Smith (when it was a more balanced offense) brehs

ok
u made a solid point

but still DAL whole offense was base off emmitt
and the reason edge got more touches was simply IND offense being fast pace
while DAL was emmitt ball control & play action

which is the main reason i brought this up

i would take edge over emmitt cause ej was more dynamic & versatile back
emmitt was off tackle left - off tackle right - screen pass left - screen pass right
duke had the best Oline ive ever seen -e williams, l allen, big nate, stepnoski...

IMO the worst back in the NFL. would have gotton 1300 rush yds with that line

addai, moreno, etc werent anywhere near as productive as james.

addai was just there at the right time.

and what other quarterbacks did moreno play with? teebow? you just knew they werent passing the ball. nor was the rest of the offensive lineup as good as it became.

Edge is better than Moreno, but he's still overrated. Addai was a 1000yrd rusher in that system. Peyton Manning's rb will not have a problem finding running lanes. How r u even arguing this. Emmitt faced mored loaded boxes than James ever did. And so did RickyWilliams

Uncertain grounds
Just for comparison's sake, Shaun Alexander's best years were behind Hutchinson and Walter Jones. Emmitt's had Nate Newton and Larry Allen both all pros and Larry as a HOFer. Emmitt had a far more productive career for a longer time, but it's just an example of how a line can help make a RB.(Alexander had some great years and his best year probably > Emmitt's)

James' first two years were great but when he tore his knee there was a noticeable difference afterwards. Wasn't as explosive but still a great back for his blocking and receiving ability. Just lets you know just how far we've come when we compare him to guys now.

and 110 yards per game

like I said balanced

Nothing balanced about your QB having 60 more attempts than your RB breh. Just stop and think about that. For comparisons sake Christian Ponder had more than 130 more attempts than AD the year he rushed for 2000 yds. You made a fallacious point and used faulty evidence to support it. :ld: Just accept it. :yeshrug:
