Comparing QB ratings now and pre 2002 is terrible, this is a passing league now, pre 2002 was a balanced attack league, RBs had higher importance, plus the league was more physical, harder to pass. QB ratings are based on passing yards and attempts and completions, greats like Farve and Marino have similar ratings to Blake Bortles, enough said.

nothing youve said conflicts with what I said. the qb play overall is far better overall as compared to 10-15 years ago as defenses are almost prohibited from playing defense and its a passing league

yet the league was popular as ever 10-15 years ago.

What are you talking about, I think you missed the point from the beginning, if the main product sucks (QBs in this case) then the league isn't interesting. The league wasn't just selling only QBs pre 2002, for instance every Lions fan watched because of Barry, so even with bad QBs, the product worked (im talking casual fans looking for entertainment). The league decided to sell QBs over the past few years, and going back on QB ratings, keeping the theme of the Lions, Stafford had a 103 QB rating today, and played like shyt, hence my point about QB ratings now, the league uses QB ratings to sell QBs because it's easy to get a good looking number, hence why they talk about them (like you are), QBR is a better measurement and that still isn't perfect.
