Because that was his first pro game in 5 years. All the other QBs are playing, practicing and game-planning every week.

And this circles back to what I'm saying before. Why do we need to handle him with kid gloves? When they called him, he had the option of saying "Sorry I'm not good enough, I haven't been practicing and game planning every week."

Instead he wanted to suit up so I'm judging him against his peers.

And you can't keep saying "but this was his first game in 5 years" to excuse his performance, then claim his performance also reflects negatively on current QBs.

Anyone coming off the couch at 45 years old and can still have an NFL team in position to win is impressive point blank.

QB play has regressed. And this was another example of why.

Watch the game, Rivers didnt throw downfilwd much at all.

The point is that him even looking "competent" was circumstantial.

Y'all missing the point.
Is indy trying to win football games or show that a 44 year old qb can be a game manager I'm confused on the point. What are we doing here lol. Any back up qb could have did what he did, hell most probably better. Holding rivers to such low standards is insane lol

I have nothing to say to excuse his performance. I expected him to be destroyed and humiliated by Seattle's defense. He wasn't. And for some reason, you keep thinking that means I thought he played well. What it means to me is that we need to be honest about where QB development is and reassess what the benchmark is for acceptable QB play in this day and age.

I have no idea what Indy was trying to do, and I did not agree with their decision to turn to Rivers. Why aren't we asking the question of "Why did Indy think a guy who hasn't played the game in five years was a better option than any free agent or practice squad player they could have poached?"

Getting held to 16 points and 120 passing yards is being destroyed and humilated in today's NFL.

Sure we didn't see him carted off the field, sacked 10 times, or end with 10 turnovers. But he showed he doesn't belong out there. The bar is being placed extremely low for this guy.

And no it's not a surprise that a 44 year old, never really athletic QB with a borderline HOF case is good at reading defenses. So are today's top QBs.

Hopefully medically cleared means playing out the last three games.

AR isn't saving the season either but Indy will likely need to rely on him next year, especially early. Plus good to get a look this season.

This Rivers experiment is aimless and a complete farce.

I learned that the SB will come down to the most healthy team

I learned that the media gives zero fukks about the Titans. Can ward is out here sticking it up but no one cares. It’s all about Shedeur.

The NFC west should get three teams in fukk the south

Whoever gets number one pick should trade down

And there are far too many injuries of top players. They need to go back to two a days in practice or something. And that Xmas game better be flexed

Tell that to buddy in Philly and those who believe in him like that.

:comeon:

You’ll have a pretty tough schedule
Rejuvenated Colts
Desperate Bears
Hawks who want to smack u for fun

1-2 at worse
2-1 at best

The winner of the Hawks and Rams on TNF gets the 1st seed, loser locks the 5th seed. Regardless, both teams will meet for the 3rd time in the divisional rounds.
You goofy Seahawk fans will never learn. Smh

Breh, Micah out for season. Watson probably out too. O-line still missing starting center and tackle. Reed hobbled off as well as our starting safety Williams. NOW they aint SB contenders.
Damn, that nikka Watson the NFL version of street clothes
