You can't keep everybody after winning championships in any sport really except baseball. It's been proven time after time that you have to make some compromises with their contracts unless people agree to pay cuts

Well yeah but usually if you do, that means you brought the team together and won immediately, all the role players didn't demand shyt (which barely ever happens), or if an unlikely team won.

Warriors were an exception because that was totally unexpected and a lot of their players are still on their first major contract.

Spurs cleared out a lot of their guys recently but re'd up.

LeBron left the Heat by choice but think of the role players they had to run through during their 4 finals stretch, not to mention Wade possibly could have left just this year. And the year they got together he was in danger of leaving

Mavs were almost a completely different team after their championship. So on and so on.

The key usually is to go all in on certain years but to have a contingency plan so you can reload. Which is what the Spurs do
