as good as den look right now, we've seen this before from manning lead teams....I'm willing to beat they lose the first time they play in the playoffs...
Yeah but the comp in the AFC is weak as fukk now. It's hard for me to see any of these AFC teams beating them in the playoffs.

we've seen this before...the times he lost, the afc didn't have powerhouse teams and his teams should've won...lets see, by the time the playoffs come and barring no major injuries, a team like the pats or chiefs can beat them..cause they have run games and defense...teams like the chargers, colts, or ravens might make it hard on the broncos, but I don't think they'd beat them...unless peyton chokes again

Nah he's lost to some powerhouses in his Indy days...the 05 Steelers, the dynasty Patriots, even the Chargers were loaded with talent a couple of years. And let's not forget he did make it to bowl twice.

I don't buy the Chiefs or Colts as serious contenders this year. I think they'd give the Pats that work too. The only way to beat them is to pressure and hit Manning, and the Pats pass rush is nothing special. We'll see.

I would say what we really learned here is the teams and the QB's we thought would be hot or very good right now (most not all) are really not living up to potential.

this is going to be a battle for those top 3/4 quarterbacks in the draft, lot of bottom dwellers this year

Im not really buying the broncos. yes, they are pretty good, but again they played bad defenses (raiders/ravens/giants/eagles)
and the offenses they have faced have problems aside maybe from the inconsistent 'innovative' eagles, and to lesser extent, ravens)

they still yet to play a team that has a positive record at this point or would have a positive record without counting the broncos game

also, do understand that good defensive teams will approach the game against broncos differently. they will run the ball, dominate time of possession and try to keep peyton off the field. today eagles kept handing the ball back to broncos.
a team like chiefs will be stingy on D and will use all kinds of runs/screens/short passes to grind the clock and keep peyton out of his rhythm

finally, a soft schedule for second year in a row doesnt help them imo, Id argue it hurts them long-term because in playoffs they wont be able to just cruise to W's. facing adversity is a different breed of animal than routinely outclassing weaker teams in regular season. and with a soft schedule you dont get much time to practice against good defenses and better offenses

no, those teams were not powerhouses...he lost to them cause he fukked up and didn't play like he did in the regular season...just go back and look at those losses and the build up before them...the colts were always near the top in scoring and people worried about the defense holding up...but when it got to the playoffs, the defense showed up, but the offense didn't...but no one wanted to blame peyton, so they thought of all of kinds of reasons why they lost, except for the obvious answer....hell, it happened last year with the ravens...yea, the defense fukked up, but peyton should've been able to run the clock out with that offense that was firing all year, but he didn't...he couldn't get a first down to end the game...

yea, he made it to the bowl twice...the first time, the team won despite him....go back and look at the games and stats...the defense carried them to the bowl, he didn't play anything close to how he did in the reg season...in the bowl, he played ok, but the bears played bad...the second time, I take nothing from him...he played well to get there and they just lost to a better team...

i'm not saying the chiefs or colts are contenders, just saying I think they'd be able to challenge/beat the broncos in the playoffs...same thing goes for the pats...yea, pressuring and hitting manning would help a team win; also, just gotta get physical with them...they're running 5-10 yd timing routes and taking them for 20-30...if you line up and hit them, throw off the timing, you make him hold the ball, which allows pressure to get to him...also, gotta stop their bullshyt run game...right now, they are running and throwing at will...if you stop the run game and make manning have to throw (read that carefully - have to throw, not want/choose to throw), you can beat them...the same way teams beat manning led teams in the past...

The dynasty Patriots and 05 Steelers weren't powerhouses? The Chargers weren't loaded with Pro Bowl talent on both sides of the ball?

I'm fully aware that Peyton has played subpar in the postseason. My contention here is the 2013 AFC is asscheeks and I don't see any of these teams being as good as the aforementioned teams or beating Denver in the playoffs.

Every team that beat the Colts had an elite front 7 and hit Manning and disrupted him (the Ravens didn't shut him down last year, they outscored him... don't see that happening this year). The Pats, Jets, Chargers, and Steelers all hit him. Which AFC team is doing that this year, and doing it enough to shut down that offense and all their weapons, and score enough on offense to win? I don't see that team.

chiefs, phins, texans and maybe even bengals have that potential on defense. on offense all of them have question marks, but these are teams with very good defenses that can pressure QB well AND cover
