growth not regression

How has he regressed? :what:

Outside of this past 48 game season, his point total has increased every year and he's stepped up his physical play. Kane is doing just fine and will get consideration for Team Canada if he keeps it up.

whats wrong with dan cleary?

vinny is expesnive im hearing dude may get 6 mill

along with that nice 32 mill buyout he got from the lighting

Wings have been missing the pure goal scorer ever since Hossa left, Zetterberg and Datsyuk are excellent playmakers, but Franzen have fallen short of the guy we need for that role. Cap room shouldnt be an issue for a player like Lecavlier, but when we have guys that spent so much time in Grand Rapids like Tartar and Nyquist that can do Cleary's job cheaper, Cleary is expendable.

Flyers sign Vinny Lecavalier to a 5 year deal worth $22.5 million with a no-movement clause. He can still play but he's far from his what he was 5 years ago.

I was so afraid the Habs were gonna throw a 6 year/$6 million deal at him. :whew:

Flyers are not in too bad a position once they can put Pronger on the injured reserve which will free up the money to sign Tim Thomas

Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
Schenn-Vinny-Simmonds
Gagne-Couturier-Read
Laughton-Talbot-Rinaldo

Timmo-Streit
Grossman-Coburn
Meszaros-Schenn

Thomas
Mason

That's a cap compliant team without them making any moves other than resigning Gagne and adding Thomas.

As far as the Seguin trade, Boston is essentially trading him and Peverley for Ericksson and freeing up an additional $5 million in cap space while adding some decent prospects so I can definitely see why they made the deal but on the other end Seguin could be your franchise player for at least the next decade. It's a deal that can be evaluated over the short-term (can Boston win a cup this year) and the long-term (Seguin as a franchise player vs how the prospects turn out).
