Ryan O'Reilly is a terrific two way player, and I think every fan would take him on their team in a heartbeat, but that's a lot of money for a guy who hasn't proven to be a top scorer, don't ya think?

Ottawa ran into a similar issue a few years back with Mike Fisher making more than $4 mil a season. Loved him on the team but that's too much for a guy that doesn't get on the score sheet all the time.

If Calgary finishes the year in the bottom of the league, and their first rounder is a top 5 pick, this could be Phil Kessel-Tyler Seguin all over again.

Another thing about hockey culture I hate. We'd see more offer sheets though if the compensation wasn't so severe.

calgary needs to blow this up, trade kipper, iglina to a contender

he hasnt really been horrible he just hasn';t done anything, his only trade was bourque for cammarelli.

i think teh locks are on him from murray edwards and ken king. flames are capped out paying big money to scrubs like stajan, stempniak etc.
