That's because you're probably not a nice guy.
Nice guys tend to be young, inexperienced, and therefore (as you said) naive. But the good thing about nice guys is that with a bit of experience, they become good men. And good men fukking eat out here, in all aspects of life.
I'd be willing to bet you've transcended the "nice guy" phase of your life and have entered the "good man" phase of your life.

I’ve recommended this book maybe 10 times on this site. I love it and read it every year: Psychocybernetics . It was recommended by a therapist about 10 years ago and it truly changed things for me. Changing your mindset really does work.

Nice guy has a different definition to different people
Obviously you should be a decent person with good intentions
The original definition of "nice guy" is supposed to be a guy who is genuinely a good person and sensitive, but him being good makes his girlfriend thinks he's soft.
Think of asking your girlfriend if you can kiss her instead of going for it - plenty of women will end up being turned off. Women like men with masculine traits, and sometimes being nice can make you look less masculine.
The goal is to make sure you being nice doesn't detract from the perception of your assertiveness and masculinity. That's the disadvantage you face sometimes as a man, in certain settings.
