It's all about the inches
The kind of music Griselda makes is about 2 decades late. They'd be legends in the 90s and early 2ks.
I don't think Griselda gives a fukk about being mainstream or "relevant" to the type of fans you're talking about.
If they did they would've never came out sounding like it's 1996.
Fred.
Griselda is relevant, as are Beast Coast, Joey Bada$$, Dave East, Flatbush Zombies, Stro, and others. Their buzz is crazy right now.
Reread what I wrote, though. Trap, drill, and all of that other bs are not the traditional NY sound. The reason that the groups that I named are popular is because they sound like NYC. It's the same reason that Jada, Styles P, De La Soul & Nas are still popular. That NY sound is the reason why Gang Starr's album is being considered one of 2019's best.
NY needs to give trap music back to the south, and drill back to the midwest. Troy Ave was right, NY needs to restore the feeling.

NOBODY is buying records these days. Griselda, like most popular groups now, gets show money. But then why sign to a major label? Why sign to a label at all? Labels wanna make money and they can't make money if you're not selling records. nikkas that like that gully Griselda shyt ain't buying records/singles.
Was gonna say thisGriselda is dope because they sound like "back in the day". If they actually come out back in the day though, I think they would've been like Artifacts, Bush Babees, or Mic Geronimo: dope artists who got overshadowed by other dope artists with bigger names.
Griselda came out at the perfect time, IMO.
People don't buy music anymore. All of the artists that I named (except Stro, he's mostly acting now) are very successful on the road. Touring is where the money is now, not in record stores.Breh... None of those names you said are selling records like that tho... Even their streams aren't as big as they would need it to be to sell records and be successful. They might sell out some shows here or there but it's still not at a decent level to get the push and sales they need.

Eminem type corny breh... Him and Mariah had a fling back in like 2001... And he still bringing her up in 2019. Nick has every right to defend his baby mama. Should've brought up the racist tapes. Most people forgot about that.
Definitely.
And considering this stupid ass beef is over Mariah he could've went the Nas route and said a "why are you concerned with dissing women" line
I'm aware. But if we're talking groups they still gotta split that money up. Amongst each other and management. The point is popularity keeps the money going. If you not making popular music you not gonna last. And most importantly you need a strong female fan base. Idk one female that knows or listens to Griselda. Not shytting on nikkas, I'm just being realistic.
