so we're going to act like james harden have not given lebron that work ever since he turned into mvp harden? we know harden plays zero defense so i could care less what bron scored in this discussion. the point is. bron can't guard harden. why not? he has great footwork, can dribble and SHOOT well. its much easier to use your athletic ability and not have to use smarts when guarding dudes that are all athleticism like a derozan but with a suspect jumpshot. its another thing to guard someone that isnt so one dimensional. where you have to out guess their next move because you have no idea if they're going to shoot the 3, one step pull up midi, shoot the fade.. the stepback. drive to the rack, the floater. you dont know. thats a much harder cover. than guarding some guy constantly rushing the rim because he doesnt believe in his own ability to knock down shots. It's the same reason why he can't really guard pg13 either. not that it matters his team sucks. so bron will always win that game when need be come playoff time.

Even nick young gives him problems at times when he gets starter mins. for the same reason. he can shoot well, and has handles.

LeBron and PG-13 have dueled for years, LeBron does a great job against PG-13. In this series he was not the primary defender on PG-13 but he held him to 8 of 20 (40%) in isolation and forced four turnovers. Steph is the best shooter in the league and LeBron held him to 1 of 11 (8%) in isolation and forced him to make eleven turnovers in the last Finals. If you look at LeBron's Synergy numbers in isolation and off spot ups for the last few years he is an above average defender of shooters.

I don't even know what you're arguing you are using one-on-one individual defense against elite players as a barometer for good defense. I mean c'mon you have to be simple minded to judge defense off that. LeBron is a better defender than Kobe in every aspect isolation, P&R, rim protection, spot up, transition. He finished as DPoY runner-up several times, every metric points towards LeBron being a better defender, and the eye test if you watched objectively would too. It's just no debating this.

where as dwade had a fully healthy squad vs dallas(a much softer team, less defensive minded). but those perimeter guards were cutting wade's drives off a lot in that series. and wade was getting bailed out time after time after time. and sent to the line so much it made the defense loosen up. well you can't do that with a star scorer as good as wade. you give him 15+ ft's and he will start making his mid range shots as well as having easier drives to the rack(which is what he does best).

dwade was a very good player that i always liked and thought he would be as good as he was when i use to watch him at marquette. but i also knew he flaw. which was he couldnt really shoot that well. which is why he was always on the ground because he was rushing the rim with no regard for his body.

first off i wasnt just talking about mid range jumpers. 3's too. yes dwade bought himself a nice little mid range at the elbow. a little rush in there. stop and turn around with the fade. he tried to use it on dallas 100 times. but i recall they were not going for it after a few times they've seen it. so he would stop, fade back, wouldnt jump. come back forward. up fake to dry to get the defender up to cause contact since the defense wasnt going for his original move. they wouldnt fall for the fake. yet he would jump into them with them just standing their with their hands up. TWEET. whistle. FOUL. dwade marches to the line like he did something. again. there's a reason Tracy Mcgrady thought that series was suspect and so did I and so did most people that were not just super dwade fans that would look the otherway just to say their favorite player won one.


Now lets talk about the fact that dwade was a super athletic guard, from chicago. that was about rushing the rim. Why wasnt dwade compared to Jordan every other day like Kobe or bron?

See the reason I know kobe is the goat SG//SF is because they went from trying to say everyone is the next Jordan and comparing them to mike. to comparing them to KOBE. no matter how much hate they try to slide kobe's way when they did this. They still use kobe as the measuring stick.

the only ... THE only reason you use someone as the ruler is because they are the GOAT you measure everything else by. THink about that for a moment. dwade played much more like jordan than lebron. dwade had an actual killer instinct something bron didnt have really.
