Nico was always right. Luka has dunked the ball 2 times in 3 years. And he’s only 26. His defense has gotten even worse. There’s no way in hell you pay some regressing that quickly $375 million a year.
His ceiling was reached when he had a true alpha scorer to carry him when it matters (Kyrie) because he will never be in shape.
He only played 3 months of basketball this year and he looked like Larry Bird on his way out of the league last night

The regression can be seen in real time. Last year he was getting by Rudy and scoring on him much easier. This year he had to rely on fadeaways and long bombs. Nico was right

Nico's decision will look smarter as the years go on. I'm sure he got paid handsomely to be the scapegoat for a decision the whole front office probably supported behind closed doors while pretending they weren't aware
