They would’ve continued to shut him down. nikka wasn’t hurt in the first place and he was shut down prior to the trade. Then Kyrie goes down too, you call the season, and protect your assets to trade Luka in the summer after you see the lottery. But you win the draft so, you get more options along with your pick.

You’re just talking out of your ass now. Kyrie was still playing at that point and waiting for Luka to join him. They were still fighting for a playoff spot. This was before the Gafford injury as well.

You’re trying to make a point that you can’t make

I wanna say the shyt is rigged but as terrible as the Knicks and Lakers were the back half of the 2010's and NEVER get the top pick tells me otherwise

Lakers don't need the draft because the league constantly makes sure other teams send them star players in AD and Luka....then those teams are gifted #1 picks NO and Dallas....the key to making a corruption look legit is not being too obcious except they fukked up with this draft....

Calm down brehs Mavs will still be trash both Kyrie and AD are made of glass. Can't really claim it's rigged they still had 1.8% chance to win and it hit. It's like winning the powerball. I'm just glad that the teams who purposely tanked got fukked.
Not really about the "now."

Cooper just turned 18 in December. He's 6'9", can shoot and actually plays defense.

Dallas knows how to turn white boys with talent into superstars. They may not win a ring with this current group, but they just got someone damn near 8 years younger than Luka without the drinking/eating/conditioning issues. Nico did what Silver told him, took the heat without snitching and got rewarded. It's like Jimmy showing young Henry Hill the ropes after getting pinched in Goodfellas.

They also got a bargaining chip to get Giannis...but I hope they don't go that route. If AD/Kyrie were guaranteed to be healthy...then I'd get Giannis, but we know that's not the case.

The problem with all y'all saying it's rigged, y'all were the same ones who were of the belief all season that the NBA was going to gift the Jazz the #1 pick so they could have Flagg as the face of the franchise. Y'all were still parroting this theory even after Luka was traded. Point being, there's only 14 spots, so the likelihood there's going to be a narrative curated around the lottery being rigged is always going to be high.

If you think of it as, every year there's like a 40-50% chance that whatever team lands the #1 pick there's going to be a grand conspiracy around that team winning.

If the NBA truly wanted to manipulate the lottery, they would've made sure all those tanking ass teams would've got the top picks because it's better for the league that the bad teams don't stay being bad.

Maybe.

Flip side is that I wouldn't want talented players to go somewhere that won't nurture their talent.

You need elite players to win a title, but you can scrap together a "competitive" 45/48 win team with a decent organization. I bet the NBA figures a team like Dallas can actually build around Cooper the way they did Dirk and Luka.
