If you did further research and looked at those abysmal numbers you would find that the reason we are #1 in illiteracy, insecurity and poverty is because of the Muslim north. And THEY are the ones that have been in power while most of the educated ones have been locked out of critical positions to move that goddamn country forward.

Young adult literacy rate in Nigeria (State by State) | EduCeleb
Literacy rates in Nigeria's north are lower than in the south

The man said Nigeria. He didn't distinguish North from South. He said Nigeria. It is one nation. So the failing of one group is the failing of all groups within that nation.

It is funny how you and others can distinguish the failings of particular groups of people in Nigeria, but then y'all will turn around and not apply that same logic to the crap that happened in the USA. Because in the USA long before any of y'all started coming here from Nigeria, we had a system called "separate but equal" or "Jim Crow" or "segregation" or "apartheid" which in the USA that existed between White people and Black people for over 100 years after slavery ended. The system was definitely separate, but there was not damn thing about it that was equal, because White people took all the taxes (including the ones paid by Black people) and funded White schools and businesses but left Black schools and businesses destitute. So African Americans out of necessity ended up forming their own schools and businesses. So of course of African Americans had less funds, so fewer of them had educational opportunities than White people. The divide was particular harsh in rural Southern communities where African American were the majority population in many places, which is why an event called the great migration happened in the USA 100 years ago, where millions of African Americans moved to the North where they had greater opportunities for employment and education. There was still segregation there, but African Americans have still forged ahead.

So I wrote all of that to say that if you are going to distinguish the stuff that occurs in Nigeria then you need to start distinguishing the same stuff that happened right here in the USA. Despite all of those obstacles that African Americans have faced to get educations and to gain a foothold on employment in the USA they have actually had quite a bit of success to the point that later Black immigrants to the USA have been deluded into thinking that opportunities have always been this way but that African Americans have not tried. That is a damn lie.

And AAs aren’t arrogant? :francis:. Our most popular music genre is based around being arrogant

First of all our most popular music genre is Blues. It is the music that lays the foundation for most of American music. It is not based on arrogance. It is based on struggle.

Second of all you are Mexican. So you are not in position to be speaking on African Americans.

Most of them Yoruba folks are in London and they be on the biggest nonsense. Igbo people just out number them in states that's it really

Don't forget you have folks like me, @patscorpio @Gold and @The Odum of Ala Igbo who are well versed in AA history and African history so not all of us are like that

I'm literally Bout to go pick up the autobiography of Malcom x for the 3rd time and go read some Elijah Muhammad books within the next month

The problem is here is that people choose to ignore history for stem. There's a lot of shyt they don't even teach in schools like the bombing of black wall st, juneteenth, or medical experimentation of black ppl and organ harvesting. I found all this the hard way

If you are Black in America, but never learned American history then you are going to find out a lot of things the hard way. I bet that a number of Black immigrants probably don't know that Donald Trump is just the tip of the ice berg. His followers are the same are the same as "Nixon's Silent majority"or "Reagan's Democrats." You all have not seen the true harshness that comes behind these group of clowns and their mouth breathing knuckle dragging followers. If you know anything about American history then you already know things are going to get worse and they are isolating immigrant groups for their next move, which is to turn law enforcement loose on you. At that point Black immigrants will become African Americans, because you are going to see everything we see and you are going to get that treatment. At least you will have countries to go back to, but African Americans have known no other land.

fyi I was basically born in mass, so I'm actually very aware. I'm saying schools dont teach this period. didnt some school in texas re-write heir history books to say slaves were indentured servants instead. Sounds like people are playing by a different ball game all together

Unless you went to an all black academy like they have down their in PG country or ATL i dont see people coming across historically accurate or nuanced info at all when it comes to afro-american history

I think there are also locals who clearly don't know either given this boards heavy political right leaning...

Where people are from isn't the issue it's where they want to be and for a lot of people that's blissfully ignorant. If you don't know history that's a choice. Everyone got a world of information readily available in their hands

You African-Americans don’t understand despite the fact I’ve said this over and over again.

Nigeria is not a nation.

Second of all you are Mexican. So you are not in position to be speaking on African Americans.

Do you know the meaning of the word, ‘popular’?
