I know some former military guys who used to do business in Nigeria but abandon Nigeria because of the instability and they lived their as US personnel. It's just a bad country. I would do business in Angola, Senegal and Sierra Leone before thinking about Nigeria

Thanks, but this is along the lines of what I meant about BET programming history being forgotten.
BET aired HBCU academic competitions when I was a kid.(I won't mention the name of the college that used to kick ass because there are HBCU alum here from other schools, heheheheh)

I'm 100% certain that education competition shows air currently on American television.Not on prime time or on the most watched channels, but definitely on the air.
I think that people are presented a VERY limited view of African Americans in the popular media. This is true here and overseas when American media is distributed. I think Nigerians have or will experience this in the future...as Nollywood films increase in popularity and become the basis of how Nigerians are viewed worldwide.

Nollywood movies are the most watched and bootlegged in the world outside of Hollywood. You are already seeing a change in content to a degree from what we saw just 10 years ago.

That competition still takes place, just no longer airs on BET

people don't realize it but when tv was cheaper and easier, Blacks had more positive images. But with cacs controlling everything 99% outside of Bryon Allen and Tyler Perry, they create the image they want us to have.

I remember being beyond happy watching Black debates on BET as a kid on Saturday.

Most ain't close to the top 1%. Most just the average popl. The top 1% of Southern Nigeria ain't coming here on a full time basis. They just come for medical and business reasons.

The top 1% or average Northern Nigeria will likely go to France before they go to America and even then, not on a full time basis.

No need to overrate the Nigerian talent in America. Most didn't come with degrees. Just a student visa on average in the 80s. The 90s, different ballgame. You had relatives getting you into America like any group. Even then, the playing field was jacked up and this have even in the new generation

If you are Black in America, but never learned American history then you are going to find out a lot of things the hard way. I bet that a number of Black immigrants probably don't know that Donald Trump is just the tip of the ice berg. His followers are the same are the same as "Nixon's Silent majority"or "Reagan's Democrats." You all have not seen the true harshness that comes behind these group of clowns and their mouth breathing knuckle dragging followers. If you know anything about American history then you already know things are going to get worse and they are isolating immigrant groups for their next move, which is to turn law enforcement loose on you. At that point Black immigrants will become African Americans, because you are going to see everything we see and you are going to get that treatment. At least you will have countries to go back to, but African Americans have known no other land.

That nikka might be the worst poster on this site. He writes so much and so well but it's almost all nonsense. I don't know if he is well versed enough to speak on the topics he speaks on.

I strongly feels he has a lot of passion and it fuels his comments but accuracy is not his intended goal it seems.

I have ZERO issues with this.

Wish we did this more stateside with our mentality as ADOS than focusing way too much sometimes on entertainment .

A lot of talented af Black folks. But it's like we are expected to carry to support the ignorant without the foundation or support to so and it's just not right in my opinion.

Like I told PhonZhi, Black folks never asked for hip hop like it is today. It is what they gave us with no alternative. They got rid of MC Hammer, not us.

Whites take away shyt with the attitude that they know what's best and I feel like when shyt hits the fan, who gets the blame?

Nothing wrong with government assistance but why ours comes with guns, drugs in the community, broken homes, and a pathway to prison and low end schools. No one else has to go through that but guess who does?

To keep it funky, black people are WAY more conservative as a whole than mufukkaz think. Problem is we don't fukk with Repubs because of the cism. Now we'll accept you, even reluctantly, but in general most blacks don't fukk with the LGBTQ shyt. With immigration, we know damn well if it were nikkaz lined up at the border, they'd start shootin.

I don't condone the way they got innocent peeps locked up in these fukked up camps though. There IS a humanity side to this shyt. But to expect nikkaz to come out in full force and ride for illegal immigrants when we got our own problems is some bullshyt. We got enough problems as is and it feels no one gives a fukk, but we supposed to for cats that end up benefiting for the most part off the hard work blood and tears off our ancestors?
