It's dead for me. The hip hop generation that carried the sneaker game is getting older in are switching up to more mature styles like loafers and boots. I am in this boat too however I still want to buy hi tops every once in a blue moon. Adidas and Nike have all but abandoned high top sneakers, especially Nike, who has flooded the Jordan Brand. At all the chain stores, Jordan is the only thing you see. Also the prices are getting ridiculous on these shoes.

True but adidas has been gaining mad traction and popularity with the boosts and tubulars.

Nike is losing their stronghold on the fashion casual market.
nike sb is dead...the dunk game which heavily influenced the modern day sneaker game is dead.

Nike is barely doing collabs like that anymore...

Asics has been gaining traction due to Ronnie Fieg and Kith
new balance has been gaining popularity

Other brands are produc8ng sneakers
high end fashion brands.

There's more options out there.
