I don't think it's that. It's more of a situation where people are distraught yet again that they'd rather be employees for someone else than bosses on their own with the influence and capital they do have.

:heh::mindblown::mindblown::mindblown::mindblown::heh:

Breh, the clothing line is a cut throat industry. Start up costs can bankrupt people. Michael Jordan is the real winner here. He does no work and get a check. Why would he go out to hire 100s of people they deal with distribution, manufacturing and logistics when Nike can do it more efficiently and give him a royalty for every unit sold. You guys always yap but never from a business stand point.

Yeah c00n Micheal ain't got the balls to take the whole pie for himself

first of all, hold this neg :ufdup:

second of all, why even do that MJ is winning. That's he's eating from Nike (without lifting a finger) and you're barely above the poverty line

Jordan has enough money to make his own shoes instead of nikes tho. but he'd have to gather and pay people to design, market, manufacture, distribute, advertise, sell etc all from his pocket.

but instead he's content with with his 5% residual income of a multimillion (billion?) dollar franchise. I wonder why.

All an "ownership" would do is give him a ton of work and liabilities. The positives? A bigger share of the profit (assuming he can do as good a job as nike which is a HUGE leap of faith) and props from folks on the internet I guess. If I'm Jordan I'll take making millions in my sleep over that 10/10 times.

Even if these athletes made all their own shoe lines they'd eventually sell the business off to some umbrella corporation owned by white folks once it got successful anyway. :laff:

the problem is, players don't know anything about the shoe business, so they have they choose to endorse a product

Jordan is a different animal, because his brand became big, but when the first Jordan shoe came out he was just a kid
plus any time you get into a business, you're never going to get as much as you are worth until you figure out how to

They did win. Granted they didn't get anything tangible for their cash, they can't put a price on all "you look fresh" compliments.
Stop commenting, what you meant to say blk community got chit and tricking their money on corporations that don't give a dime back into the blk community

Maybe they choose not to create their own brand?...

I mean do ya'll realize how much effort it would take to create their own company? Including designing, manufacturing, buying retail space, marketing, etc.,

And on top of that they are ALREADY a full time athlete? These guys aren't :cape:....

I don't doubt they consciously choose to just get part of the pie with NONE of the work...:yeshrug:
