Polygamy actually makes finding women harder for the average male.
In a society like ours where a very small minority of people hold the majority of wealth, it would be catastrophic if this became mainstream and acceptable.

But there should only be single monogamy recognized by the state.

What happens is that you take more viable partners out of the dating pool and you build communal resentment for people who can't compete in the dating market.
