Polygamy actually makes finding women harder for the average male.
In a society like ours where a very small minority of people hold the majority of wealth, it would be catastrophic if this became mainstream and acceptable.

Once that changes and she no longer expects or wants that, you'll see more women concentrated with fewer and fewer men. An large numbers of men will go sexless. That's a real ass problem.
