thats how TotalBiscuit makes a killing.. all his videos are 15-30 minutes long (of just him talking :what: hes not even good at video games :russ: )

and all get 100-500k views..

Is it just a straight up multiplication of the time now? Like say before a regular 5 min video with a million views would have made 1000, is it that a 40 min will make 8x that?
vacation videos are the easiest way to get gains... and i know a lot of us go on vacation from the threads.. we should get more video and do reviews on countries and cities since we all spread out

why do i say this.. cause i posted 3 vids up of cancun and they got me over 300k views

but i can't make any money off them, cause songs are playing in the background.. and i literally mean you can hear a beat and bass... that's all it takes to get "you cannot monetize this video"

but people go on trips, they wanna youtube the spot.. see what it's like... see the hotel.. see the city..

if we can start uploading those, with original music in the background, it'd make crazy money... but there would be so many hands in the pot... it's kind of something you need to do as a traveling man... someone who does a lot of business trips could make money off that

I didn't know that about vacation posts. I've always seen the low hang fruit of youtube being pet videos and baby videos. But I definitely can see how/why vacation videos get alot of easy views. I just seen a vacation instagram with 2million followers the other day so it makes sense.

yea but how many different videos are gonna come up when you google "cute baby" the comp is endless... and you get 100,000 views and you made $700k ($1 per 1,000)... well now you gotta have your baby or pet match that each time, several times a week, and keep people interested and watching

meanwhile how many people are posting videos from the pyramids in Egypt... much smaller number when you go google "vacation to pyramids"

:mjcry: at some of my brehs struggling on Youtube

Im making high $xxx/ mo off my channel. I only have 300k lifetime views. I do videos all on the same topic, no music, no copyright. It's just me talking on one particular subject over and over again. I occasionally do a video on a random topic but my subscribers don't watch them. My best video only has like 40k views.

There are way more niches to eat off than videogames. As a matter of fact if you can get in a niche early you will eat much better because you'll get all of the traffic.

I stay away from networks because they are slave deals and I dont need music to do what I do.

They changed how youtube searches work. Its not about total views no more.

How it shows up relevance wise is the % watched of a video. This is how youtube helps makes new youtube people popular. So if I make a video of "cute baby" and its 5 minutes long but people watch 4 minutes of it, even if I have 0 subscribers it will pop up in a search before someone with 500k subscribers post a video named "cute baby" and has a 5 minute video but people only watch 3 minutes of it..

:dahell: im partnered with youtube before they partnered just anyone(2012). Youtube even offered me to stream games on their site (at the time, only a couple hundred people at most had this access)..

you can stream / record video games no issue at all. Reread my post, I said I cant have 3rd party music on it.

youtube asked me the same thing last year about my vacation videos... i accepted it... then they later came back and said no cause they never actually watched the videos, just noticed the views.. like i said, they won't take any notice that you don't have the license, if you said you had it when you uploaded (part of the agreement) and nobody has tried to file a claim (music companies sent them the claims)

now i don't know your personal situation and you seem to be sure that you can do this... but for the record, these are the rules directly from youtube.. they don't care if you make money now, cause if anyone is gonna get sued, it'll be you

What can I monetize?
Video game content may be monetized depending on the commercial use rights granted to you by licenses of video game publishers. Some video game publishers allow you to use all video game content for commercial use and state that in their license agreements. Likewise, videos showing software user interface may be monetized only if you have a contract with the publisher or you have paid a licensing fee.

To learn more about obtaining commercial use rights to third party content, please review how to read licenses to understand your rights and what YouTube looks for in your documentation.

What can't I monetize?
Without the appropriate license from the publisher, use of video game or software user interface must be minimal. Video game content may be monetized if the associated step-by-step commentary is strictly tied to the live action being shown and provides instructional or educational value.

Videos simply showing a user playing a video game or the use of software for extended periods of time may not be accepted for monetization.

edit: so apparently as long as you give some instructions it's cool.. but if you just chilling and playing, they'll shut it down

so how do you get people to watch? seriously... cause that's not a bad idea.. you got some kids and a pet and you could have a nice little check every month... not millionaire status but a couple hundred bucks wouldn't hurt

How it works for me is if youtube finds an issue with a video of mine, they wont let me monetize it (happens once out of 30 videos maybe) but usually its cause I have something in the background or whatever..

Most large companies want people doing shyt for them on youtube because it helps make their games more popular..

Rust / Day-Z creators owe their entire pay checks to Twitch/Youtube..

One notion you guys are not realizing is that majority if not all of these Youtube sensations started their channel for the passion of it. Whether it was a video game channel, sports commentary, pranks, etc. They did it to make other people laugh, entertained or whatever. After a while when they realized they had a loyal following, they put in more effort seeing they could monetize off it.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if people came and threw money at them before they realized what was going on.

There's a popular youtube Im looking for that escapes me at the minute that could work well with your vacation concept. They basically just do fun shyt all over the country. They have one of those real expensive cameras with amazing editing. Actually I just found it

These mofos right here. Of course you're going to need some money to start off but you'll make the money you spend right back.

This youtube is a great example of a "niche". Dude uses it to promo and sell some average clothing line he has and he eats pretty good from both aspects.

yea then i can definitely see why music companies would be more quick to shut that down than video games... playing a game would be great advertising.. basically "look how cool this game is" where posting music and movies would be "hey come get free music and movies"

Now my video is averting for free, and I ain't getting pay for noting... :dwillhuh::beli:

Wasn't seriously at the time, and I was only using fraps to record my online game play at the time with a shiity computer. I was using editing software to edit my videos and launch it . Still don't know shyt about the business scheme.
