:dwillhuh: Huh?

If you read any of posts in here I cook for my son damn near everyday. I’ve always cooked, since I was 12, because I was taught how to by my mom and grandma and it’s not hard to do. I admit that I don’t make soul food like that, but that’s only because it’s fatty and bad for you, but I do cook.

brehs were in here complaining about bw not cooking and being lazy, etc. so I encouraged them to stop dating us and date out. Then I’m told I’m deflecting and being lazy for saying that, when other Brehs were in here saying the same thing, but only one checked them on it.

When a Breh says he’s just going to get a Becky and Latina I say cool, enjoy them tacos and unseasoned rotisserie then you say I’m imaginary refuge, lazy and complacent.:gucci:lol.

Y’all really just want to be mad about something. Date out or date in. I hope you get what you want and need Breh. That’s all I got.

As a man that knows how to cook well. If a woman doesn't know how to cook, but willing to learn, id gladly show her how I do it.

If a man ends up with a woman who can't cook, and he cant cook, but dreams about being able to cook. Then they could come together and learn how to cook together.

Even though I stand on a woman with a child should know how to cook. I also believe that a person who's willing to learn actually can. Starting at that moment.
Lazy people sit around and make excuses so they can continue to be lazy. People with a can do attitude come together and get shyt done.

True. And I'm a sucker for jerk brisket :francis:

But my sodium levels have gone down. Check out my Blood Pressure thread on The Gym subforum.
I don’t post in that forum but I didn’t make the connection to blood pressure and diet until my sister mentioned her blood pressure was high. She eats out everyday—both my sisters do, because they don’t like to cook.
:dahell: But what's wrong with a pot of black eyed peas tho? Or some kale finessed into tasting like collard greens, and in a fraction of the time? There's more to soul food than fried chicken (which I also make, but in the airfryer). We must preserve our foodways, that's our history.

In my house, we also have different eating styles, but I've managed to pull him my way little by little. He's an avowed carnivore but I recently used inflation to lobby for one meatless day/ wk. :smugbiden:
I make greens because my son loves greens lol. Funny thing is I’m not a huge greens person, I love myself some cabbage though. Black eye peas are a New Years tradition. How do you like the chicken in the air fryer? I’ve done fries and potatoes in the air fryer and I didn’t like it that much—but it is a healthier alternative. When I crave fried chicken I’ll make it, but I just don’t ever crave it. I’m very sensible when it comes to foods. But @Booksnrain will tell you I got a big sweet tooth. I love sweets, that’s my unhealthy vice lol.

If your looking for a wife, get one. Leave these women to themselves
I agree with this. Stop trynna fit a square peg in a round hole. Know what kind of person you looking for going in, not after a baby and a few holiday seasons of delivery and strife.

The problem is, men themselves are confused by feminism and the changes it has wrought. A good number of you expect women to pay half, so they gotta throw 'bows at the job, and then you want them to soften up the second they walk through the door. Pick a struggle, you cant have both.

:birdman: I make black eyed peas when tf I want black eyed peas. :pachaha: I also eat Turkey on days besides Thanksgiving. Traditions are only a suggestion.

We worked together on the airfryer fried chicken. Thus far, I'm doing a crust of panko, regular bread crumbs, cornstarch, and fresh grated parmesan. I don't use eggs bc it's too messy for me and I don't need the aggravation.

We dont really do sweets, but I will fukk up some greens, that's my vice: savory. Cabbage works surprisingly well in the air fryer too. Last week, I made cabbage 'steaks' with a mustard based sauce. Sounds weird, but shyt was hitting. I do it regular too though, olive oil, salt, and pepper- it's a nice hands free method that approximates a saute.

I'll disagree with one thing you said; I said, leave these women alone, but, not feminism aka the white woman power play.

We've spent almost a decade with a few liberal/marxist/feminists at the head of the Black Struggle for Progression in BLM.

My problem is this tic tac; OMG, women don't cook anymore nonsense that never comes to a solution.

That's a low blow, but, I'll give you this. We do need to step our game up or settle for what's out there for us.

But feminism is the root of all the confusion, in this particular case, bc women have devalued what was traditionally seen as 'womans work.' So much so, you got men who think they can outcook women when neither one of them know how to make ANY sort of bread from scratch. Bread is a fukking STAPLE. Cooking a salmon filet or chicken breast is barely cooking, but women ourselves have dumbed it down to the lowest possible degree.

:hubie: I meant no offense. It's just... yall kinda asking for the female tupac in a suit. I'm the most amenable brehette on here, I think, and even I couldn't do it. It goes against our very nature.

The female version of "Tupac in a Business Suit" is Melyssa Ford in an apron

Hmmm that actually sounds good, I may try it. I’m not a huge savory person probably why I never crave anything. I struggle to eat during the week (because I don’t eat sweets during the week) because Im just not huge fan of savory food.

But I love sweets. They are my favorite things to eat and bake. Ive spent years crafting my own recipe for pancakes, cakes, cookies—of all kinds, muffins, brownies, even pudding.

exactly. It’s not even hard to cook. I’ve cooked with men ive dated and it’s actually fun. now I have no choice but to cook for my son because I don’t want him eating out all the time and want to give him some nutrition but I’m a single mom so it’s a given that I’m the one that will cook.

But I do know married households that operate differently these days since both people work. And If both people work, realistically they both will probably have to share responsibilities in terms of household chores and cooking. I know an Asian woman who does no cooking whatsoever, her husband does, and she cleans—she says her husband is a good cook and she’s not. My boss doesn’t cook either, her husband does and she coaches her son’s swim team and is very involved in her work. They’ve hired a maid to clean their home(they are white).

It’s interesting how dynamics have changed in this day and age.

I'd tend to disagree. I'll spare you a long history lesson, but, ppl have confused what feminism is vs these crazy "man hater" statements we read on social media.

Again, I recognize things have changed and the calculus of dating with it.

We're living in an era financial anxiety and desperation. At this point; everything is devalued--even our own health--for money.

I have beef with feminism, but, I generally try not to paint it with a broad brush. It's been around for nearly a century, but, a lot of these problems are pretty recent.
:hubie: I meant no offense. It's just... yall kinda asking for the female tupac in a suit. I'm the most amenable brehette on here, I think, and even I couldn't do it. It goes against our very nature.

I can blame this particular problem on feminism (I don't, but, this is a better argument) as women still demand to be courted like women of "old," while fiercely demanding preferences reserved for a "weaker" sex (in their eyes).

The big problem is; no one wants equality because no one can agree on what equality even is. Nor do we appreciate the concessions equality would demand.

Neither men nor women generally cook anymore and neither want to pay for anything.

:mjlol: So, we either die of hunger or blame each other for the imbalance in values.
