obviously everyone should eat healthier, but it's not that simple though. a lot of those unhealthy meals come out of necessity because eating healthier can be more expensive. plus a lot of people live in 'food deserts' where they can't even access basic groceries, let alone healthy ones.

more excuses. Its not expensive to eat healthy. The more expensive foods like processed meats and sugary snacks are more expensive than the produce section at a grocery store. I cook, so I know exactly what im talking about. My grocery bill doesn't get expensive until the cashier starts ringing up the unhealthy stuff.

This is a disingenuous argument. All adults should know how to cook, because cooking your own food saves you money and is healthier. That’s not connected to whether women should exclusively cook big family meals, be the only people who pass on traditions, etc. And just because you can feed yourself making a decent, healthy chicken breast with veggies doesn’t mean I want you making Thanksgiving dinner.

Everyone had an aunt who couldn’t cook. Many had an uncle or grandad who cooked. My dad makes the rolls and punch during holiday get togethers, plus BBQ. I’ve got a brother who cooks very well and brings dishes, and I do too. My mom does everything else for the most part. If it’s truly a family tradition, multiple people should participate with carrying it on. If it’s just a privilege you expect to observe like a magic trick, it will die. Your choice.

thats $11 for a big pot of healthy shyt. And its simple to cook.

A tray of chicken legs is $6 where im from. Wash and season accordingly then put them in the oven until done.

Corn meal and flour with a egg and butter milk for corn bread.

A balanced dinner for 4, less than $30.

Way to easy once you decide you're going to do it.

You're going way past a simple point. If you're a woman with kids, you should know how to cook. Whether the father is in the picture or not. If you're a woman with children, they should know how to cook.

I've come to the realization that the Black community is on fire and no one is coming to save it.

My grandmother worked 45 hours a week as a maid scrubbing white peoples floors and still kept a spotless home and made dinner every night on top of Sunday Dinners.

Women are the keepers of the culture and the first teachers but they would rather drink wine, eat brunch and see how many men can give them money thirst trapping on IG while getting their back blown out by the trainer at their local planet fitness.
