Name some cultural anthropologists you’ve read.

Many if not most cultures pass on most traditions through men. The town elder, the wise man/magi, the medicine man, etc. FAMILY traditions are different and usually centered around the entire family, creating a sense of identity that is passed on. The problem here is we have a group of American men whose idea of tradition is watching football while women make you a plate. That’s it, and if the woman doesn’t do her “job” the tradition dies. That’s not real tradition, and it’s no wonder you guys have zero interest in keeping it alive if women don’t do their job lol.

Cooking tradition is not a woman exclusive role in non American cultures. That’s simply a fact. The real question than needs to be asked is why are American traditions dying while everyone else’s remain strong. This isn’t black exclusive. White people are going through the same shyt. I’m not talking about Italian Americans, or Irish Americans, etc - people with strong cultural connections to a home country who maintain their tradition. I’m talking about normal, white Americans who have no cultural connection to their European heritage. Southern cacs, Midwest cacs etc.

We got men who don’t contribute shyt, won’t get married, and just want to go somewhere to watch a game and eat turkey. We’re fukked.

This is not correct at all. The substance of a culture goes trough women because they are the ones raising the kids.

Franz Fanon explained it well when he talked about the colonization of Algeria by the French. French were unable to conquer Berbers living in the mountain. In order to defeat them, after consulting sociologists and anthropologists, they came to the conclusion that they had to change the women in order to break social order of those tribes.

Traditions are not only dying in America, they are dying in everyplace the modern way of life is advancing.

That's why if you want to destroy a group's cohesion and heritage, you go for women "first". That's how colonizers used to "liberate" women of the colonized.

Look at this woman, for example.

"Ungrateful offspring"

What self respecting woman would say this shyt about something she's responsible for? How about make those ungrateful kids come in the kitchen and help you cook. Then those kids will grow up knowing how to cook.

Its some great black women still breathing out here. But this subculture of lazy women is growing.
What also struck me is that she sees no issues with grandmothers being younger.

That's what Satan does. He tries to change the woman's mind first. Change the woman and change the whole family.

Homie, this isn't the 70s. Just because they call themselves Italian or Irish means they're upholding their traditions. One thing I noticed when watching videos on the mob is the rate they assimilated to American culture. How many first generation woman from there have you seen? They aren't the majority anymore. Hell, if you ask an "Irish" person if they speak or at least understand Gaelic, they gonna hit you with the :dahell: and ask Italians the same and they :shaq2:. Hell they even give me the :stopitslime: as well.

Stop being disingenuous :beli:

A fraction of the people at home cook unhealthy meals, compared to people that eat out all the time. God forbid if you have kids, and justify feeding them fast food, or food made by unsanitary people on a regular basis. :picard:
Lol You keep changing the goal post to fit your argument. Eating out != fast food. Lol before you were talking about cost and now you’ve brought in concerns about sanitation, but some of y’all aunts are dirty and you’ll eat out their kitchens.

How many more generations do y’all want women to slave away at? I don’t understand the gripe with women making life easier for themselves by contracting or opting out of certain things. Then have a nerve to call them lazy, like you stepping up to help. This is the same shyt white people say when you don’t want to work for cheap/free.

Why do y’all hold so tightly to the idea that women should be cooking and not we ALL should be doing what’s necessary to support and advance the family?

Usually problems we face as adults stem from our upbringing..if principles, discipline etc are not instilled in minors, they'll grow into unruly troublesome adults.

At what age do girls start helping out in the kitchen at home?
How are the family meals prepared and served..does everyone sit at the dinner table or its grab and go and who does the dishing and serving?

This structure if done incorrrectly, will result in neck rolling adult females that can talk back to hungry men..:gucci:

If you observe some old cultures beyond the US, whether middle eastern, Asian or African there's a way meals a structured. All very different ofcourse but ultimately the same. This is by design so females are instilled with the knowledge the community will need for the future.

The girl child isnt expected at first to cook, but the moment she can serve she dishes for her father.
She washes his hands before he digs into the food she placed in front of him, and clears after he's done and re-washes his hands.

If a woman wasnt raised to tend to her father, she will not tend to her boyfriend no matter how rich he is..:umad:

Black women say goofy shyt like “why do I have to cook, why cant the man do that” and then wonder why brothers are running to other races. They think their only role is having kids smh. Well heather and maria will have my kids and still cook dinner every night :yeshrug:

If a black woman down south say something like that, she would be an abomination to her family. Or even black women for the most part. Broads who refuse to cook, have high blood pressure and sodium levels

Men love to pick and choose when to be traditional or not. If you think it’s the woman’s job to cook, then it’s fair to say it’s the man’s job to provide. It’s not right to work a woman like a mule and condemn every other woman for pointing out the hypocrisy and double standards.

Cool have fun with heather and Maria. :manny:Enjoy rotisserie and carrots/enchiladas and tacos.

Shiittt I remember in elementary school going to my white friends house and watching their mothers cooking, I didn’t seem them wash their hands, and they stopped in the middle of cooking to pet or let their dog lick their hand and go right back to it. Think I’m playing. At my last job there was a gay white guy who was funny as hell, he never ate potluck stuff when they brought it to work. And whenever we asked them why, he got this look on his face :usure::mjpls:said he’s real particular and he don’t trust other people’s cooking and he don’t think they wash their hands when they cook.

It was only the white woman bringing in food and participating in the potluck. He knew his people.

Let’s not do this. When women complain about black men dating out their race this forum is quick to (accurately) point out the vast majority of black men date/marry within the race. And when black women act in a manner you disapprove brehs are quick to say “see that’s why black men date outside the race.” You can’t have it both ways.

Black men are mainly dating/marrying black women. I’d agree southern black women are cooking more than say…west coast black women lol. But if you’re an adult you should know how to cook. Cook with your wife. Cook for your wife. She’ll cook for you. It’s not her exclusive job to cook for you though. End of story…

I love when they start with their empty threats ‘ThIS iS WhY wE’rE lEaViNG yOu’ like we’re supposed to shudder in fear and sing ‘I have nothing, nothing, nothing if I don’t have you.’

That’s why those types of relationships are statistically more likely to fail- because they have a shytty foundation. Their relationship with Becky is premised on their disdain for black woman. No good relationship can be built off the foundation of hate.

Their preferences can’t even cook or season their food anyway lol.

Wash their hands? They don’t even wash their legs in the shower.
