Smith really upped his game last night. He lit up that Pats D at times.
Pats O is shaky and D isn't good right now. Gotta see what adjustments they make next couple of games to determine if they will go back to SB. They probably will still win that division even with a 9-7.

The problem is everybody wants QB's to be one type of QB. The fantasy football GOD type.
We don't do this with other positions.
As WR's people appreciate the Antonio Brown, Julie Jones, OBJ. DeSean Jackson, Anquon Boldin, don't matter the type of WR we appreciate the skills.
RBs same thing we don't shyt on a back if they don't fit the AP, Lynch mold. We appreciate the Jamal Charles, DeVonta Freeman, and all types of RBs.
But as a QB if you aint the Brees/Manning/Brady/Rodgers fantasy god type QB. you get shytted on.
All different QB's can win in this league, and you don't need to be throwing down the field constantly to win games.

The reality is he is a guy who focuses on limiting turnovers, those plays last night, dudes were open. He throws to more open players
Obviously not since the Chiefs are one of the more successful teams in the NFL over the past couple years but you need to threaten teams over the top consistently which Smith simply doesn't do enough.
I mean, the Chiefs themselves spent two first rounders and a third on Mahomes. If they thought Smith was getting them to the promised land, are they doing that?

Also, this is Smith's contract year i believe, so Mahomes on a 4 year rookie deal is more attractive than paying 34 year old Alex Smith a new deal next year

I really don't understand why people throw on that cape for Alex smith. If you have a pretty good team he's an alright qb that'll take you to the playoffs. Good luck going deep in the playoffs with him though

Smith has been relatively nice for a minute now. At least top half of the league.
I'd even say in a group of better than over half of league. Like top 40 percent if he keeps playin like that.
