I do believe Republicans will nominate a woman in 2024 but it will be a conservative woman they will want young white girls to look up to that has roots in America/Europe

I think the idea in some circles is she will Clayton Bigsby her way to winning.
if she wears the white-mom mask but has a record of being pragmatic she’ll be able to sneak her way into it.

One thing I will say. When the monuments were coming down and the confederate flags were being removed, some of those white southerners said something that was swept under the rug.
The confederates are scapegoats to an extent, because if you look at the history of slavery in this country, and the industries it created and fueled....a LOT of statues have to be taken down.Limiting it to just military men from the southern side of the Civil War is a bit of revisionism too. When you want to open up the discussion about which great men owned slaves, people get very quiet.

Man stop. This is so conservative "both sides" bullcrap.
There are no perfect human beings. No one is deciding who gets statues solely based on being a good person. The problem with those statues and and the flag is that they represent one thing. Holding people down to the detriment of the country.
No one is saying Teddy Roosevelt did nothing colonist as a Rough Rider or his Big Stick policy in South America. But he also made it important to protect our countries national resources/parks and bust up monopolies.
Jefferson Davis and his ilk were wrong to support slavery before the war and even worse, after they lost, they still supported the oppression of those same slaves. What's the "good of the country" did these military men do after given a second chance after the war?
Guess what. Ghandi and MLK were both fallible men who did great and bad things. But taken as a whole......

My post was specifically about slave/plantation owners but let's discuss post civil war america. Let's discuss the compromise of 1877 where, as always politics came ahead of people's well beings. Where were these Norherners/ Union fighters when reconstruction was halted?
I didn't post what I did as a joke or to downplay what the confederacy was about. But let's get real about the history of this country, and the hand that many people had in the torture and enslavement of Black people.
