Nintendo aiming to be 2nd place

Could we agree that Nintendo is content about being 2nd place and providing a true secondary option for consoles. Since PS4, Microsoft and PC are competing for that number 1 spot in gaming. I think it's safe to say we will never see Nintendo compete on that power level ever again and that what there doing right now providing first party experiences and unique ip's is what they can do best. Providing something so different to stay the fukk away from the competition even if it means being underpowered.

I think settling for 2nd best is the best choice nintendo has made this generation

I don't think any company strives for second place. I think that for the past decade nintendo has been in their own lane. After the gamecube which was the last time a nintendo console was on par with the rest of the competition. They got lucky with the wii and since the gamecube flopped they've been trying to "innovate" since it worked well for them once.

TBH even if nintendo made a console on par with the the others would that do any better? The third party relation ships they've had are destroyed and I really don't see xbox or ps users to gravitate towards them when nintendo has the kiddie connotation tied to their name.

With the Scorpio and PS4 Pro here I think we can establish that generations are non existent. I don't consider wii a gen 7 console that uses gen 6 graphics. I think the switch is technically still in gen 8 while the wii u was just playing catch up with gen 7.

the rules have changed and these companies have fixed it to reward their own future visions. They move their own goal posts.

What good is second place when the attach rate on games is low? What good is first place when folk don't sign up for your services? That's what these companies want bruh, they could fukking care less about actual true sales...unless your undisputed, that's not where the money is. That's a game for suckers.
