That's why I said the NX being powerful doesnt matter.
But the gamecube also got several titles BECAUSE it was powerful.
I had a gamecube exclusively for nearly that entire generation.
I wouldn't have been able to play prince of persia, splinter cell, and other multiplatform
games if Nintendo gimped the hardware like they did with the Wii/Wii U
I was practically starving for content on the Wii when Mass Effect/Dead Space/Assassin's Creed etc.
were dropping on ps360 (I had a 360 at the time but don't miss the point I'm making here...)
So power does indeed matter, if the next Nintendo console is in line with ps4/xbone, I wouldn't be surprised
if it got multiplatform titles.
That's because a lot of third party versions on the gamecube were inferior in some aspects to the other versions i.e. One less button due to the way GC's controller was made, cut content because of space issues, late ports etc.
This.
The gamecube's issue wasn't "power" it was STORAGE. An issue that carried over from the n64 !
When Sony had CD's, Nintendo has cartridges.
When Sony had DVD's, Nintendo had minidiscs.
It almost feels as if they gimp themselves on purpose at times.
Despite that though, the gamecube was a fantastic machine and one
I was proud to own.
