DUUUVAAAAAALL!!!
Zelda has been open world since the O.G. right?? i havnt played them all, but i know the first one was open world....
I thought Zelda was always open world.
There's never been separate levels to complete
Not really, you still had to do dungeon in order and a lot of areas would be closed off until you get a certain item(s). The only real open word Zelda games were The OG Zelda on NES and A Link Between Worlds.

This is 100% false. "Ocarina of Time" wasn't open world? "Majora's Mask"? "Twilight Princess"? "Windwaker"?
Saying these games ain't open world because the entire world wasn't open to you until you got an item or finished a task is like saying "GTA" ain't open world, for the same reasons:

Well my mistake then, I had figured that the new Zelda would be more of a sandbox type open world when there would be no restrictions.
