Nintendo making games for PS4/Xb1, good or bad Idea?

Yes but if it was built multiplat from day one all the stuff that makes it better on wii u wouldn't exist
Technically he's right. Going as far back as the SNES Nintendo always designed the controllers around the games, not the other way around. This is especially obvious with the N64, the Wii and the Wii-U. I still got the OG "Next Gen" mags with the first appearance of the N64....the industry was shytting on that controller until they played "Mario 64".
Playing the devil's advocate though, there's nothing stopping them from making a new game built around a MS or Sony controller. But that's not gonna happen for obvious reasons.

Well yeah, and "Ocarina of Time" is on the 3DS. But it wasn't made for that, you dig?
That's why I said they can compromise if they want to....and they have....but traditionally they try to build their flagship titles around the controller....moreso than probably any other console maker in history.

The people clamouring for this have no understanding of Nintendo's value proposition, branding or the games industry in general. It's disgraceful thinking, if only for how narrow/short sighted it is. If you like Nintendo games, you buy their platform. If not, you don't. Pretty simple.
I have opted in and out of various gen Nintendo hardware since the SNES days, all while maintaining at least one other platform. People are happy to pay money for a gameless brick at release and demonstrate why early adopters are considered to be jokes. Can't have it all.

A GameCube game could translate pretty effortlessly to say an Xbox 360 pad. only the Wii and Wii u so far have odd controls. If they were to go third party I'd assume they'd design the game around the consoles out now.
Yeah that's why I left the GC one out. They didn't really wild out with that one.

Who is hating on Nintendo?? The thread is about a video from HHG and Michael Pachter. Did you even listen to it?? They made it pretty clear Nintendo's 1st party titles are exceptional and that it would be great if they can play those same games on better tech. I'm well aware Nintendo is sitting on more $$$ than Sony right now, it's just been a mere wish that Nintendo would do something to get their games out on better tech. It's no reason why Nintendo still has incompetent online service and is now just entering HD when people been on that.

You have been making no sense in this entire thread so far man lol. Nobody here is shytting on any "kiddy" nintendo games. Matter of fact nobody even called any Nintendo game "kiddy" thus far here cept YOUThey shyt on the kiddy Nintendo games, but beg for them to come to their console.

In a nutshell, it'd be great to own a Nintendo console that support the latest graphics technologies, has great online service without arbitrary restrictions as well as has games from third party devs. I'd like to own a Nintendo console that also gets games like The Division, Battlefield, MGS, etc.
