I still think it's too soon for a new console, especially in the middle of the generation. However with the Wii U being the sales flop it is, it's probably best they move on.
Oh well at least I got Bayo 2 and Smash out of it.
No one knows exactly what it is but its speculated to be both a console and handheld. And if the Wall Street Journal is to be believed, it will be running on industry leading hardware, which could really mean anything.

Is it backward compatible?
Is this "console" as graphically as powerful as ps4?

That's what I'm wondering. Especially if they're releasing a new one this early (if this rumor holds truth). Wouldn't be any point of em to continue games for the Wii U if they feel it's a flop. Hey should just focus all their attention on this new one. They are gonna need it to keep up and do right with this one.

They put out a console with 2000 grade hardware in 2006.
Then they put out a console with 2005/2006 grade hardware in 2012.
It's a foregone conclusion that they will go for the three peat and shoot for or around Xbone level hardware with the NX. I'd love to be wrong but Nintendo doesn't have a strong history of learning from their mistakes.
It HAS to be the strongest otherwise Nintendo is fukked plus it's easy and affordable to beat PS4 graphics now. This is gonna be a Gamecube situation to the PS2/Xbox

portability + continuity in their ecosystem is the main focus for NX. they'll eventually come out with only one system with different models similar to how they do the DS and its screen size. with that said, i'm copping and just hope it's backward compatible.
