They shooting for an all-in-one handheld device. The whole point of the Wii U is to ween customers away from the antiquated console formula. They want to drop flagship titles on a hand-held.

I'm starting to think that too...especially with the wireless capabilities it's supposed to have.

It would be cool if it could play Wii U games, there's a handful of titles on that system I want to play but don't see myself ever copping a Wii U. Plus it would help with the library of games from jump.

portability + continuity in their ecosystem is the main focus for NX. they'll eventually come out with only one system with different models similar to how they do the DS and its screen size. with that said, i'm copping and just hope it's backward compatible.

and this is why it will fail

I hope they have a wii u trade in program, and the NX is backwards compatible :sadcam:

Why would you want it to be backwards compatible? Wouldn't that mean the technology would have to be held back just to play Wii U games? Doesn't seem worth it to me. I want a Nintendo console thats as powerful as PS4 and Xbox One.

At the end of the day the NX needs to be as strong or stronger than the Xbox One, and within it's first year or two of development it needs a few UNDENIABLE CLASSIC games to keep people revisiting it. Too often is hardware made with no sort of concerted effort to get devs to actually support it and it becomes bushes status off rip

If this is true then Nintendo is truly as ass backwards as I picture them to be in my head. :mjlol:

There's no point of dropping a new handheld device because phones have taken over the game. The only way this will work is if it's a tablet like the iPad that works for shyt other than games. Otherwise they should just create a premium service app for iOS and droid, drop games on it then call it a day. :skip:

Actually that's a great idea. :jbhmm:

:leostare:This all in one device better have a high resolution. The Wii U tablet's resolution is too low.

I don't know what Nintendo is thinking about with the NX. Will it just be portable, or can you also hook it up to your TV? I don't want a 3DSXXXL. I want a full fledged system that is as powerful as the PS4 or X1. Probably not gonna happen though. :francis:

Imagine a retina-like display that outputs something like 1440p on a 10 inch screen. It could have HDMI out to hook it up to your TV and Bluetooth controllers to play with. I could rock with that :jbhmm:

Oh and Mario. There better be a Mario game at launch. They need a killer app at launch to incite all those that felt the Wii U was too weak and threw Nintendo to the bushes.
