Nipseys right.....but its difficult as fukk. Our culture is so rooted in individualism and finding your place in the world. Black folks don't really hand down a life path/trade to our kids, so our kids have no real incentive to stay at home, save money, soak up game and follow in their parents footsteps/blueprint. If you do try to live with your folks/let your kids stay past 18, the best way to do this is have a downstairs for the adult kids. A bathroom/living room/bedroom setup

Reality is some of us leave because the life at home is toxic at. I'd rathe struggle a little financially on my own than live at home and have my peace of mind suffer at the hands of others.

I have a different perspective on this. My mom pushed me to the point where I was ready to be out by 18. went to college, grinded, struggled, etc. and never came back.

It motivated me but it can be very damaging for those who get thrown out there and aren't built for it.

But real talk, it's a blessing if your home environment is non-toxic enough to where you can stay. I HAD to bounce. Otherwise I would have killed my mom's bf at the time.

I stayed at home until I was 26 and was able to buy my own spot. Not rented a day in my life

I rented in college and realized that wasn't the best long term choice for me. Moved back in with my parents for 2 yrs after college, saved up money and had enough to put a down payment on a house. Best decision I ever made.

I didn't stop living with relatives until 25 after college....but I left my parents house at 17. Had to move with an older relative that wasn't on my dikk about everything
The vast majority of ppl that I know that left home in a hurry were ppl who wanted FREEDOM
