Watched the final.

Very good match. Shinsuke's spotty selling bothered me though, don't know why they worked the knee when Swagamura wasn't going to change his offense and just pull off the same move without any struggle even though Tana worked it pretty damn well. It was a bummer because they teased working Shinsuke's injured elbow, which could've been much better (more drama and doesn't mess with Nakamura's offense). Watched it unspoiled and didn't really buy into the nearfalls, at no point I thought Tana was losing, it was worked very similar to a Cena "epic" actually. Having said all that, the match was good enough for me to pay attention for 30+ minutes, that's very high praise for modern puro.

I don't give a fukk about another "classic showdown" between Okada and Tanahashi. shyt's tired and I'm getting more and more bored about the booking focusing around 3 people for so damn long and with pretty much the same damn story without much nuance or change to it. Okada will "finally" surpass Tanahashi at WK 10 (even though he already did that in 2013, but people tend to forget that) when he should've done that THIS year. The whole "Okada will have to regroup and start all over again" epic angle that some people claimed we were going to witness never really happened.

It's frustrating because they've done a pretty good job establishing the uppermidcard as legit threats, but they never pull the trigger on them. I would LOVE for Tana to lose his shot in October, it would be an upset and a breath of fresh air.

Just watched the whole thang.

Main event's ending caught me by surprise. Since the beginning of the tournament, I thought Nakamura was winning. Even with his injury, he brought it in the last two matches. Both were awesome. I thought last night's Okada/Nakamura match was a taste of what we would get next January, but it seems after all they gonna follow last Wrestle Kingdom's ending with Tanahashi saying Okada isn't ready.

This thing is already played out. I would've preferred a Okada/Nakamura showdown with Chaos's stability on the line. I've been more accustomed to Dragon Gate's stable dynamic, so watching Chaos going on and on and on for years is tiring. They will have a fantastic match, but still, the roster needs new dynamics, new units.

Another fantastic match was KUSHIDA/Ricochet. I wasn't expecting Ricochet to win, because those Lucha Underground contacts fukk everything else up, and that was the case.

At first I didn't understand why Elgin was paired with YOSHI-HASHI, but their match was a very good showdown for both of them. Elgin has found a new home in NJ, and I expect him to see him there frequently. Also, HASHI should have been in the tournament, instead of Fale or Gallows.

Opening match, the Jr. Tag Match (which the ROH FB feed spoiled me :stopitslime:), and the Okada/Kingdom vs Bullet Club matches were in the very good range. I don't expect a title change between AJ and Okada in the future before WK, but who knows.

Everything else was in the OK range.

Delirious opened the show with a kinda awkward promo. Don't understand why most gaijin adopt that particular way of talking when they are in front of a Japanese crowd. They will get some ROH shows.

The only two things I understood from the Tenryu segment at intermission was that Tenryu called Okada a baby and that something is going down in November, so I guess Okada will be Tenryu's retirement match.

:stopitslime: at them for using generic themes for Muto and Chono. Pay up, motherfukkers.

:stopitslime: at them for not given Honma a victory even in a random tag match.

:takedat: Yujiro's catwoman

Overall, a very enjoyable show.

For as tiring as Okada/Tana feels, the thing you gotta remember is it keeps on doing great business and they'll probably do an even bigger number yet again at the Dome this year :mjcry: Okada HAS to get that Dome win against Tana, but goddamn I really thought/hoped/wished they were going to take a year off of it like they'd done before. Okada/Naka felt like a perfect betweener.

Also, the G1 winner challenging in the Dome has gotta go. It makes the next four months processional.

Why the fukk are we gonna get Okada/AJ again :why:

I think that's just how white people talk like when they assume the person they're speaking to doesn't understand English :dead:

Wait, when did they announce that

When's the Tag League again? I think I'm gonna cancel during that month...unless that's the month with Tenryu/Okada

Last few years the Tag-League has been in November to early December.

Not going to bother watching the final to be honest, got it spoiled anyway but I wasn't too hyped about another Tana/Nak match in the first place :ld: Tenryu came out of nowhere, just hope Okada is ready and willing to offer up his face for some shoot punches :dame:

Match could last 5 minutes with 3 of them consisting of two Tenry punches and Okada having a shocked look :demonic:

You know these two were close to calling an audible and working an angle just for the fun of it.
