Just finished the show. Ibushi vs Tanahashi was AWESOME. Shibata vs Styles was good, but not at the level I thought it could be. The other G1 matches...welp, I'll say I'm glad I didn't stay up to watch this live. Luckily we have a lot of days and matches ahead.
Most tag matches were in the OK level too. Nothing outstanding. Elgin looked good in his first NJ match.
Naito's suit was... interesting.
Edit: And forgot to mention: Lots of WWE mentions on Liger's match. Wish I knew Japanese

i agree that shibata/aj was good, but didn't live up. probably due to shibata being hurt. they could have an amazing match down the line though.
tanahashi/ibushi was amazing. tanahashi proved he can still go when it's time. ibushi continues not being able to win the "big one" on the big 3. great story and when ibushi finally gets his win it will be huge.
other three matches were
. naito tried hard, but fale fukking sucks. that botched pinfall finish 
the tag matches were what is to be expected from guys taking it easy. the six man tag before the G1 matches was a pretty good showcase of elgin though.
i think night 2 is going to have more good G1 matches than night 1. 4/5 have potential to be good-really good, but i don't think anything is gonna touch tanahashi/ibushi on night 2.

Tana/Ibushi is a must watch. AJ/Shibata was good but it ended rather abruptly
The rest is skippable. I'm gonna skip all the multi tag, Gallows and Fale's matches
They gotta cut Gallows and Fale, they are absolute garbage
