don't get why some of ya'll surprised at Tana still being able to bring it...he's the ACE of the company...he's truly one of the best to ever do it. When has he ever lost a step? He's only 38...He aint no spring chicken, but he aint old. He's still got plenty left in the tank. Ric Flair didn't hit his prime until about that age. I became a believer seeing him put on great matches with Toru Yano. How quickly nikkas forget. Won Wrestling Observers wrestler of the year 3 times in a row...2 years ago.

My girl actually watched the event last night with me. She's a sharp lady, and c'mon, if she puts up with WWE and goes to NXT shows with me...this is much better in comparison, so it ends up being an easy sell that makes me look like a genius.

We will be playing catch up a night or two, especially when school starts back up, but for now it's heavenly: I get to introduce something I'm also learning as well, provide backstory and context, explain moves as they're executed clean like clockwork...so many wins all around. Even without being able to understand the commentary, the wrestling spoke in a language we can all comprehend.

Thoughts:
- I see why Honma can lose every match but still be loved by everyone. When he hit the headbutt, recoiled from the strike, and exhaustedly went for the tag - I died.
- Bullet Club looked :flabbynsick: , especially Fale making Naito botch the pin being so clumsy
- Kojima/Ishii will be fire
- That final match was a lovely opening salvo to the series of shows.
- I don't know much, but that match said to me that Tanahashi is not just a wily vet, he is still in his prime.

My only regret is not jumping onboard NJPW World sooner. I might need a thread to get put on more classics with. The quality of the stream was PHENOMENAL, and it was cake to mirror to my TV. 16 bucks for 19 programs like this? Yes, please.

Just caught some of matches from the first show and ibishi/Tana was just dope. Hell Styles/Shibata was pretty good as well. It's crazy how New Japan presentation just makes these matches feel more important than regular Wrestling.

Yeah, don't know why there was the impression Tana stopped being good, he always brings it to main events. I guess there was burnout after all the hype surrounding him for 3 years (that completely overrated him) so taking a step back from the spotlight made it seem he was losing it? I don't know.

Have to catch up on matches.

I'm always interested to see what they do with that Bushi return match.

Today's show apparently got the house show treatment, it was shot with a single camera without any commentary. Should still be good, gonna check it out later tonight

Could anyone screenshot the final table with the black and white result dots? Perhaps we could have the current one in the OP...

Yah that was pretty jarring...

Just caught today's G1 matches. Pretty much all of the G1 matches except Yujiro/Goto were decent.

The best match was probably Okada/Elgin. I was pretty surprised how much offence Elgin had in the match. This was definitely the best Elgin match I've ever seen. Nagata/Honma and Kojima/Ishii were both fun matches too.

Kinda sucks that we got the one camera show (I expect it to be like that on half of the tournament :francis:. Not even the zoom out effect for the Rainmaker pose :scust: ), but ah well.

Yujiro sucks (but his chick was hot :takedat:). Ishii/Kojima was good and hard hitting, as expected. Honma/Nagata was very good. Okada/Elgin was very good too. Elgin definitively impressed this crowd. Nakamura/Anderson was aight.

Didn't check the tag matches yet.

Upset at night two :ohhh: At least Anderson is better than Fale or Gallows :scust:

And this year seems to be deja vu for Honma :mjcry:

The lack of commentary was the issue for me, could've at least dubbed it like TNA does :francis:
