No amount of budgeting and not eating out is going to make up for the fact that we don't make enough money.

In the last 2 years home prices have went up $200k plus, nikkas rent have almost doubled. You see the prices of used cars! If you was already budgeting at those prices you have zero chance making it now. He’s right, them Jordan’s, that iphone, and occasionally enjoying yourself would have no affect on that. shyt escalated too quickly.

But this is the coli so I know how this thread will go. nikkas think canceling that gym membership and their Hulu subscription will make a difference.
Which actually reminds me, I forgot they increased the Hulu membership price but didn’t say anything. Same for XM. Those little jumps do add up over time.

Wow that’s great to hear bro. Really just made my day :mjcry:

I am married now and we are living off my salary and saving my wife’s for now on.

Already saved 3K in the past two weeks. I’m aiming fir 5-6K per month.

She still had student loans though and I have to knock off this credit card.

I’m super motivated and reading this book now. Highly recommend it.

The Psychology of Money: Timeless lessons on wealth, greed, and happiness

I was passing the link to pdf, to everyone in the boiler room thread last year.

And yeah fam glad to hear. :salute:

I know you troll at times, but you’ve been a real one. And it’s been encouraging.

There is something called self discipline, saving for a rainy day. this is just excusing bad behaviour , the funds will never be enough if there is no financial literacy and folks cant budget, and spend within their salary or pay checks. This is about discipline and self control. Athlete who earn huge tons of cash have gone broke , its all due to financial illiteracy and reckless spending and behaviour

And then after that then they should aim to get a higher paying job or take some online classes or something. There are ways to get paid out here.

Of course some are really down bad but I know mad people who are just lazy and unmotivated. They complain and don’t try to change their situation. Always begging for money but they always got weed to smoke.

If you’re broke then you’re stressed. It’s natural to wanna smoke some weed to give yourself a break.

I hear what you saying tho

I try to live off of 43k( I make way more) and it’s a struggle

yep I remember that. You’re a few years older than me and I remember you graduating, getting your first real job, but working at McDonald’s on the weekend for some extra income. I always thought of that and ended up doing something similar once I finished my degree.

My first job out of college paid me 40k, so I worked a couple other gigs to bring my income up to 70k. It was a grind but it was something I had to do and knew I could only do while I was young. This also motivated me to look for higher paying jobs and how to get there. Tbh just last night I was thinking of getting another side job just for the weekend for a few hours.

Hell I’d be open to even washing dishes for a few hours. Don’t care what anyone thinks as long as my bank account is straight.

I’m just going work on another wfh job first. Found some pointers last night :ohlawd:

Also i don’t work hard to blow my money either. I want to make more money to increase my savings and investments. The quicker I can reach 100k investment the quicker that shyt will double.

Your discipline is crazy my brother :salute:

I bought a car today and paid more than I wanted. It is what it is :yeshrug: 9 times out of 10 that Jordan or iPhone money that you’re saving will be going to good or gas anyway. You might as well spend it on what you want.

That’s a miserable pointless life. I’d rather be dead
I did that and I feel the same way. fukk that. I worked from 7-3 and then 3:39 til 11 that’s after I went full time on my current career. I was doing 7-3 and then 3:30-7. I literally was mad everyday until I gave up that morning job

In general, you want to spend SOMETHING on yourself..whether its a vacation, sneakers, etc..

When having extra for yourself is considered a luxury, we are in deep trouble
This. Wtf are we working for if we can’t treat ourselves without it causing a major financial problem? Smh. That’s why I had to get a job paying more

I agree

If you're in poverty no amount of eating out will take you out of it

If you're ballin no amount of eating out is going to stop that
Anyone that thinks people are largely broke because of bad financial discipline just proves how completely out touch someone can be

But did you do it temporarily?

Of course it shouldn’t be a forever thing.
