No amount of budgeting and not eating out is going to make up for the fact that we don't make enough money.

That’s a miserable pointless life. I’d rather be dead
It’s not supposed to be forever. You do it for whatever amount of time it takes to get out of your debt/bad financial situation and use any free time you have to build up skills to get a better job. The real issue is often people don’t use their free time to actually improve so they just end up stuck working multiple jobs to pay bills.

Yeah man.

It’s crazy how someone even thought I was suggesting to do that forever.

Some people just don’t have that hustle mentality:manny:

Uncertain grounds
As of now there’s really no substantial difference in price between eating out and buying groceries.

Both are at unlivable costs

This is false and you know it.

Even at a high end grocery store I just got two quarter pound patties to grill for 3.60

At McDonalds that's running around 10 bucks let alone an actual restaurant. That's probably running at least 30.

Those types of savings add up over an extended time

Didn't someone post a thread saying the average black household makes 45k a year?
I can imagine someone making that much is either struggling to stay afloat or starting to get into debt.
Even if they can pay bills now, they need to account for the cost of living increasing in the future.
That thread really opened my eyes to the fact that a lot of you here are out of touch. Those numbers shouldn't be surprising. Maybe some of ya'll just ended up doing so well ya'll forgot what things were like back home, or maybe ya'll were never in or by the trenches, I dunno.

Wages are stagnant while inflation has gone up yet American as a whole has more wealth now than ever before. The very definition of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

No amount of budgeting will solve our economic problems. Deciding to not spend $600 on them Yeezys won't do shyt for you in 2 months when you still can't pay the bills. The only other option is to get a second job. Call this an "option" is a stretch...many full time jobs do not want folks on a the payroll with another job. Not to mention, working 14 - 17hrs a day isn't healthy for single individuals let alone someone with a family. Speaking from experience.

Birthing rates are dropping partly because ppl, mostly women, are opting for careers over family.... Economic and food insecurity is on the rise....random acts of mass violence is coming the norm... all of which are endemic of a decadent society. This is not substantial. Pointing the finger masses isn't a solution.
