.Youth culture as a whole is 100% manufactured, marketed and sold back to a generation of probably the most gulllable batch of humans we've seen.
I swear people just post whatever stupid thing pops in their head.
I’m no advocate for “todays youth” but literally every advertising and marketing company is banging their heads against the wall because this generation is impossible to reach because their interests are so fractured and diverse.

It's the South fault. They rule hip hop and haven't progressed the sound. Listen to 2000's southern music. DJ Toomp, Lil Jon, Dungeon, brought something different. Now, trap music just sounds like Lex Lugor and hasn't progressed really. No dis to Metro (I know he's from the Midwest but he basically South) but overall it's no progress.

For me personally i still listen to rap but only in the gym. Its too much murder murder kill kill vibrations for me to consume as much as i used to.

I think Nipsey’s death was the last straw for me. The music just feels empty and wasteful.

I been heavy on R&B, Country and Podcasts when I'm not in the gym and listening to something.

Before the :flabbynsick: come in here whining about the culture

Yall dont support the real. This is partially yall fault. The youth and the taste makers. It's way bigger than "no one makes good music anymore"

Yall don't appreciate the good music that's made. That's why it's not broadcasted. That's why the artists who make bullshyt make it

"I could rhyme like Common Sense......."

This JID record is everything yall say isn't in the mainstream anymore. One of the many quality albums that came out in the past year. How come it didn't go Gold?
:jbhmm:

Exactly
:unimpressed:

Stop it. I listened to this and it's on youth to carry the cream of the culture. Old heads can only produce residual support.

So you lecturing the wrong demographic.

What happened to Rock is slowly happening to Rap. You are seeing the beginning of Rap no longer being the dominant genre in music. :francis:
And that's because of rap not because it was surpassed. I'd easily listen to rap music on a regular basis over another genre. Most other genres are very mood specific. When I'm out I here a lil rap, then mostly dance music from Latin to African to house. But that's also a summer vibe. However I'm listening second hand to young people blasting shyt on public. I hear a lot of Latin music these days and I'm in Canada. I do t even know the percentage of people that speak Latin here.

This is similar to what dancehall music is facing. When the content is so explicit and vulgar it loses its dominance. Most rap songs you can't even play at a fundraiser or it would be like 5 seconds worth of bleeps at a time

Not even sure it matters. Morgan Wallen still dominating even with a double album he dropped 2 years ago. Taylor Swift got damn near every album charting high.

It's Morgan's year

Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus got a chokehold on things.

This is the Coli demographic. It's on yall too. @LevelUp and @KingsOfKings always post dope new music. It gets no traffic here

I have a new music thread. No traffic. Yall have to be accountable and open to appreciate the shyt these rappers still make
