That's what the media told me eh? You know what else the media said? They said Kobe raped a girl, ran Shaq out of town, doesn't trust his teammates, etc etc.

Where in this thread did I ever bring any of this up? Stop mking up sentences just to reply. :dahell:

I was waiting on this, you obviously can't compare rebound numbers or asst numbers because it wouldn't be fair to Kobe on rebounding or Duncan on assts. The most fair comparison is PPG and FG%.

But rebounding and assist are fundamental parts of basketball huh :skip: what would happen if no one rebounded...

Jason kidd was a guard...he routinely got 7, 8, or more boards...

Rondo is a guard... he routinely gets 7, 8, or more boards...

I won't post the rebounding differential between the two because that is disgusting...I also won't post the blocks differential between the two because it is quite disgusting as well :skip:

but

Duncan career assist average : 3.1

Kobe Career assist average : 4.8

You mean to tell me kobe is getting a smooth 1.7 more assist than tim duncan for all the time he has the ball in his hands :comeon:...and that this would not be fair to duncan to compare :comeon:

This is the part where you tell me kobe had no one to pass to...and i go through and drop some lakers fg % and then ask you to tell me why is he surrounded by guys shooting higher than league average for their position and still have such a low assist number...

Shaq...
Nash...
Rice...
Fisher...

These are the ones off the top of your head...but oh...oh...

This series is just confirmation of what all basketball fans have known. Duncan is truly an all time great. Top 5 easily.

he was right on par with shaq and a elite player in the leauge tim hasnt been one for years

No, back in the early 2000's, it was Shaq, TD, KG, and occasionally CHris webber who were considered the most important players in the league. The AI's, Kobe's, and Vinces were amusing side shows for the crayon eating crowd because the NBA kept trying to market a new jordan.

Only one player has consistently dominated from the guard spot on both ends of the floor. Tim Duncan has been dominant his entire career on offense and defense, never came with the baggage of his peers, and has been a beast in the playoffs, except for 2005 Finals when he had a couple of brainfarts.

there's this system called the triangle offense that isn't kind to assist numbers. Not a coincidence his highest assist per game years are those when he was out of the triangle.
