You misinterpreted what I said. I said the Lakers put talent around Kobe when he asked for it, Duncan just happened to get players who ended up flourishing around him. That's the difference, I didn't use it as a knock on Kobe.... :rudy:

Shouldn't all teams put together the best team possible? What you're saying is, is that its a bad thing Kobe had to kick the Lakers fo in the ass to make a quality team. Why is that a knock against him again?

Tim Duncan has won 70% of all the games he's played in. That's not just the best winning pct. in the NBA, but the best winning percentage amongst all North American professional leagues. That stat alone trumps Kobe's glorious individual achievements.

Failed to repeat. Failed to win the west back to back years. Blew a 2-0 lead twice. Lost to an 8 seed as a 1 seed. From 2008-2012 he was :flabbynsick: and no where near a top 10 player. If they win this year he will have the worst Finals stats of his career while being a third or fourth option.

:myman: Hasn't Kobe basically owned the Spurs? I see the argument, but this is a bad thread IMHO. And when is the last time Duncan has carried the team? A better thread would have been if Lebron wins 4 championships....

According to Duncan Stans, Kobe's first 3 championships didnt because it was "Shaq's team". Tony Parker has been the best player on the spurs for at least the last 3 years so why would Duncan's title "count" or hold any weight using that criteria?

And Kobe's 00'/01'/02' Playoff runs destroy Duncan's this year

TD 13' Playoffs 17/9.9/2.1 49%TS:wtf:(Terrible especially for a Big Man)

Kobe 00' Playoffs 21/4/4 51%TS
Kobe 01' Playoffs 29/7/6 55%TS
Kobe 02' Playoffs 26/6/4 52%TS

Not to mention Kobe was the closer on the Lakers while in crunch time For the spurs its Parker

Funny how Kobe's first 3 rings are discounted because Shaq won Finals MVP, eventhough Kobe was averaging 25-30ppg. Now Danny Green or Gary Neal is about to win Finals MVP and nikkas ain't saying nothing about that damaging Duncan's legacy.

How would nikkas have reacted if Sasha Vujacic or Jordan Farmar were winning finals MVP in 09 or 10?

Duncan is not going to pass Kobe just cause he gets carried to another title. Parker was the reason they made it to the finals and right now Green/Neal are the reason they are up 2-1. Duncan has been mediocre at best.

Greg Popovich has won 70% of all the games he's coached in. That's not just the best winning pct. in the NBA, but the best winning percentage amongst all North American professional leagues. ...

And how ironic you used a :beli: smilie, would you really attribute the Patriot's successes to dink and dunk Brady? :heh:
