yall going a little too far in this thread...

Pac going to NL being a good idea!? :mjlol:
P and C were low budget Pacs...and NL had some hits...but EVERY album had absolute trash filler on it.

NL are super goons, but DR was full of punks!? :russ:
We already know how Snoop is king of ducktales...
...and P isnt going to say anything that makes him look bad.

I enjoy these shows...but I take everything with a grain of salt.

They may have wanted a bigger % of the deal that P was offering, plus didn't want to feature NL artists and production on the projects. They wanted to keep everything in house, which was how CMR operated.

P basically did this with other labels, (C-loc Records - Youngbleed and Tuff Guy Records- Mr. Marcelo and the Wild Boys allegedly) I'm not sure of the timing of CMR and NL meeting about this but if the meeting took place after Youngbleed album dropped, I can see this happening.

P more likely presented them with a % deal and they didn't want to take the deal which may have been more exposure for NL than CMR. CMR may have felt that they were giving up a lot.

The NL name would have been all over CMR projects in a sense, or I would say that the NL brand, at the time, would have over-shadowed CMR, on a nation level, NL was running the rap game, they would have been on CMR albums with features, videos, etc and CMR heads probably didn't want that, which I don't blame them, they spent many years building their brand. They wanted their own spotlight on a national level

When people think about a Youngbleed project, their mind goes str8 to NL, Youngbleed is not a NL artist, he was on C-Loc records, (C-loc was getting paid off that deal, he got paid so much where he stated that he didn't wanna drop a record/album, he just wanted to run his business, so I take it, the deal was real nice with P) This also is the record company where Boosie came from... same with Mr. Marcelo, folks may associate him with NL, rather than Tuff Guy Records, Doo Do and them boys...

I can see why CMR backed away from that deal.
I know P knew C-Loc from back in the day too, probably looked out for him in the deal. That would've been cool if Bleed was on some features as well.

funny how P & numerous other ppl feel comfortable to talk down on Suge once they hear he's serving 25-life...

before Reggie Wright Jr. got locked up he told a story about how Travon Lane punched Snoop around the time he was attempting to leave Deathrow & No Limit nikkas were there & did nothing...

where was this type of energy back then?

same goes for 'Pac these nikkas have the most to say now that they're in positions where they can't do anything.
fam stop and quit trying to check Percy's gangster, Suge was in jail after Pac died and numerous people were scared to do business with him or scared of crossing him, P wasn't.

Reggie told P he wanted to talk to Snoop, P said cool and Snoop was with HIS homeboys not no one from NL, Reggie said that no one from NL was a bytch.

P only talks about Suge when people ask about the Snoop deal.

U have 0 clue brah, P's gangsta is legendary. Boz, Hot Boy Jimmie, V90, Pokey, Swoll, Big Manne, Big Moe, them boys legit, got dem connects n will protect your ass from all bytchasses n enemies. Stay in yo lane

I agree Pac would have been too big for NL in 96 or 97 and prolly wouldn't have meshed with BBTP n co. But 97 and many 98 NL albums had no real filler, just consistently solid gangsta rap

Wish they discussed Big Ed more. He was one of my favorite artists on No Limit.
Agreed, they barely showed him. He always had the Miller boys' backs and was a good loyal brother. He was just as important as Serv (who did have the important KLC/BBTP connect tho along with Mia) or Magic (who did have bigger hits tho with Down 4 My Ns n Wobble Wobble)

Suge: Cali ain't big enough for both of us :mjpls:

Master P: so when you leaving:rudy:

:dead:

P didn't end up being the one that stayed though. I'm sure they'll get into that in the episode.....hell of a teaser though.

Not pocket watching but trying to put more essence on P's deal

Making $15.00 off an album

500k x $15 (CD sold for 19.99) I assume Priority got the 3-4 dollars for their 20% =
P cut would be 7.5 million and this is just off a Gold album, this doesn't include singles going gold or plat.

Then to add, Priority gave him 250k ( which made the deal go from 85/15 to 80/20) for every album he had coming up..he probably used 40k-100k for promo for that artist debut album or 2nd album and gave the artists the rest that was left from the 250k, plus a cut of the 80% off their actual album sales and singles.

NL was printing money, mama :wow:

Still a shyt load of money, but he did say he was making 85% off the 15, not 15 per album.

Yeah Big Ed was down from day one out in the bay, but him and P had a falling out towards his tenure of Nolimit which is why P never said much him dying, had a similar falling out with Slim, and he had a bad falling out with magic and snoop had to pay for magic & wife funeral...

I saw Big Ed back stage at a nolimit concert once, didn't know who he was, I thought dude was a bodyguard, he was brolic as fucc. Sad his album was a ass though outside of the my entourage track.

I follow fiend on IG & he has said multiple times The Tank Doggs Album(fiend, snoop, mac, snoop, C) was completed, along with KLC project & a few others. Wish they could see the light of day.

Yeah i agree, and i fukk with some of NL joints (in hind-sight).

People also forget to mention that when NL & Death Row had that lil supposed friction it wasnt during the peak of Death Row. This was basically the DR that had crumbled.

Peak era DR vs NL? Would've been a much stronger war.

1998? Suge is in jail yall forgot that? DR doesnt have the same LA pull nor the money. All the artists are gone. U had SOME of the goons runnin it along with Reggie Wright but still not like before.
