Its called evangelical man. That shyt can be annoying. When it totally consumes everything about you. I go to church but i've never had the mentality that I'd ever go full on holy roller. I still think i'm a good person but i still live a really secular life and can't see that changing.

Its not annoying. Him going the Holy Roller route tells me he is not balanced.

He can be creative and still be in that lane, he can go full blown conscious rapper and do introspective raps. It worked for Scarface and Nas when they became more conscious in their raps.

He couldn't do it at that the level of Jay Electronica or Killah Priest, cause his knowledge is limited.

I'm just talking about music.

He could not go real deep like Jay Electronica or Killah Priest, because his knowledge of history, religion, and philosophy is limited. He would probably be worst then Nas, when Nas used to try to kick knowledge.

But he could rhyme conscious without being a Holy Roller. Even at the level of Common and Talib.

@Raymond Burrr

so you just gonna ignore that previous paragraph about how the church made the civil rights movement possible?

The first religion was created by the first civillization on earth, the sumerians. They created the story of the great flood and all that(epic of gilgamesh). Then you have the egyptians who worshipped the sun god and all that, the myth of horus, etc.

I'm not an expert, but christianity was influenced by these religions.

Just because the movement got co-opted by the white man and all that doesn't mean black people cannot make it their own in 2016 or that you can just discount people's opinion because they are christian.

An empowerment code made civil rights possible not no god damn christianity. The church was a way to aggregate blacks to join in on a mission of empowerment. If we didn't buy into these white religions, and we were on some empowerment shyt, we wouldn't have needed to convince these church goers to get on board because we wouldn't have needed a 'Church'. Basically black empowerment co-opted christianity in the black community to make the civil rights movement happen. Sadly they half assed that as well :snoop:

fukk islam, but The NOI was kicking black empowerment and nikkas wouldn't join them because of RELIGIOUS differences. Even tho the NOI was talking black empowerment these christian c00ns didn't wanna get join up. They went against their own best interest to bow down to whitey

Right now nikkas got all the church in the world and no power. They're not on code.

As far as the origin of christianity is concerned miss me with the bullshyt mayne :camby:

I don't care if we started it, it's been co-opted modified as a weapon against us. In addition to it being TOTALLY useless for us as a people it's DANGEROUS.

nikkas won't even use certain SLANG once whitey starts using but nikkas wanna try to 'take back' christianity?? :russ:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
As a Clipse fan, i hate this change. As a man i respect it to the fullest. It's like your homie you used to hit the clubs with and talk to girls, hit the strip clubs. Now when you go to their facebook, it's nothing but bible verses. All you have are MEMORIES.
my boy and his brother are like this... look just like the clipse too... 2 of the wildest nikkas i ever met in my life. and these types never just "go to church" and stop doing what they were doing

nah they gotta take it 10000000% to the other extreme and start preaching to you and everyone else they know...

first the younger one converted... started going wild with the church... bible verses... everything including breakfast pics had to have a paragraph sermon on why the lord blessed him with this food

his brother moved in with me... he was wilding, fukking bytches, drinking daily, doing it all.... then he ups and converts.... and does the exact same thing now

now i'm like scarface... all alone in the game :mjcry:
