You dont seem to grasp what im saying here. When you play The Last of Us yes other people have seen the cool shyt you saw, when you play Uncharted then yes other people see the cool shyt you saw, when you play No Man's Sky statistically no other player in the history of playing the game will ever set foot on a planet you visit. Thats the problem. We arent asking that every 10 minutes you get into a shoot out or dog fight with another player. What people want is the ability to tell your friend to go to a certain spot to see a cool type of animal, a weird landscape, or give us the option to fly around and explore together. And if more people want to meet up then let them, because due to the large number of planets in the game you could offer that feature and the people who want to be left alone would never be bothered because its just that many damn planets in the game. Just for a reference if 10 million people bought this game that would give 1.8x10^12 planets for each player.
This is whats going to happen with that game.
Everyone that plays long enough. not talking 100's of hours. but a good 30 or so hours of game play will see some planets without a lot of life there but will find a lot of materials there and other things to do. then you will have a select few moments where you will find that planet(s) that has all the life you could dream of, the good stuff and the scary stuff when the sun goes down like Pitch black the movie. yes. if you play for enough hours. everyone will have ran into something special and unique that makes you go WOW that looks crazy. so its not a game where only some of us will see that. all of us will. the reason we know this is because if you stick with the main theme which is heading to the center of the galaxy. you will get closer and closer to one another. and they said stuff starts to look stranger and stranger the closer you get to the middle. thats for ALL OF US. so even though you wont see the exact same animals or even the exact same ships or the exact same this or that. you will see the same factions(Main NPC's). and the same ship TYPES(you may not see a honda accord but you will see a civic and an acura). you might not get to see a Bengal tiger. but you will see a mountain lion.
everyone will have a chance to witness the games greatness. just not all at the same time.
let me tell you what would happen if we had multi player like we kind of all would like. me included. but i would use it sparingly. while most of yall would ride with a team all the time. if we had multiplayer, i would see something special and crazy. i would have you beam to my spot within 2 seconds flat. since you would be across the solar system. me, you and some more of my homies would be in the same spot. hanging out exploring the same stuff mining the same rocks, etc, digging in the same spots. if we're doing that together. and their are 18 quintillion planets out there. how many planets and discoveries would we miss out on? a lot more than we would if we were on our own planets by ourselves most of the time. where you could still twitch/youtube about your discoveries for all to see. people act like twitching games/youtubing games isnt a thing nowadays. its not hard to do at all from a pc or a console now. thats the simple multiplayer design of this game. interact online but off the game about what you saw in the game. and on some rare occasion you may actually run into a person. or see one of us flying into a spacestation or out of one.
this game right now is an anti troll game. no trolling at all. you can't just run around with your boys shooting up people's brand new ships just cause. you can't fly into planets shooting up players just cause you're bored with the rest of the game. and lastly, if friends could hang together early on. it would make it a lot less difficult to survive.
its much easier to survive with help then it is without just you and you only.
