The blacks who voted for these people should all up on this making a big stink about it. All the black people who stood up to take credit for Doug Jones getting elected, where are they on things like this? It doesn’t matter who you vote for, if you don’t hold them accountable then they’re going to act contrary to your best interest in the interest of others.

"Tim Kaine isn’t shy about his work as a fair housing lawyer. When he ran as the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee in 2016, the Virginia senator routinely touted his past pro bono efforts to help low-income families deal with shady landlords and racist lenders. Combined with his affable dork-dad delivery, Kaine helped shore up Hillary Clinton’s credibility on an ambitious anti-discrimination agenda. And it didn’t sound like empty politician talk: Kaine had done the work.

He still feels a connection with civil rights attorneys. “In representing people who are getting ripped off or who don’t have anybody else to stand up for them or who don’t even know the questions to ask or where to turn for help, you are the hero,” Kaine told a Washington gathering of the nonprofit National Consumer Law Center in November.

And yet next week, the Senate is set to vote on a Kaine-sponsored bill that deliberately undermines the government’s ability to enforce laws against racial discrimination in the housing market. The legislation would block the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from collecting key data showing when and where families of color are being overcharged for home loans or steered into predatory products. It’s just one small provision in a broad financial deregulation package, which, thanks to backing from 12 Democratic senators, is almost certain to clear both chambers of Congress and receive President Donald Trump’s signature."

"When banks do offer mortgages to black and Hispanic families, they are often costly and high-risk. A 2016 study from the National Bureau of Economic Research found that “Hispanic Americans are 78% more likely to be given a high-cost mortgage, and black Americans are 105% more likely.”

Now, Democrats in the Senate are working with Republicans to make it easier for banks to get away with this practice. By further eroding the CFPB’s oversight and regulatory powers, banks would be able to continue overcharging black families and pushing them into expensive and risky mortgages with little fear of reprisal."

Guess who is in the senate:mjpls:

The Senate will vote on the package next week. Here are the 12 Democrats (and one independent) who are co-sponsoring the bill:

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO)
Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE)
Sen. Chris c00ns (D-DE)
Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN)
Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND)
Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL)
Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA)
Sen. Angus King (I-ME)
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO)
Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI)
Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT)
Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA)

The last link has their phone numbers in the article.

Always at war :wow:

Remember when black women saved America by voting for Doug Jones? :laff::laff::laff:
this line of thinking is retarded.....as bad as this bill is.....with someone like roy moore in congress they would be voting on much worse.

more often than not we don’t vote to get what we rly want.....we vote the lesser of 2 evils which is still something significant.

by saying we shouldnt vote we’re completely throwing away something significant and overall progress. and sometimes by not voting we lose ground (move backwards)

if you wanna straight up give up on life then call it that....dont sugarcoat it by thinking not voting is being revolutionary.

not voting = suicide, quite literally.

don’t sit there and act like voting solves absolutely nothing because that’s not true at all.

be an idiot or be smart, it’s your choice.
