There's absolutely no reason for them to be in any rush to drop a PS6.

Where exactly would the improvements be? We've gotten to the point where it's not worth dropping $600 for minor graphical upgrades.

Whenever they do drop it, it needs to come with a bigger HD tho. I remember my PS5 hard drive was full in like two months :stopitslime:

and simple inflation.

nikkaz cool with literally EVERYTHING costing more every year except electronics. :mjlol:

when the PS4 dropped, the cheapest IPhone was 549. Today its 799.

that's how shyt goes. If the 6 can drop at 599, in 2028 or 2029, that's a W.
It's the weirdest thing seeing the console pricing is where they can't compute inflation being a factor. It's crazy when you show them how much N64 games used to cost back in the day:mjlol:

gamers truly are the most irrational/entitled consumers out there

a game could be a generational experience and they'll say it's not worth $70 cuz the story was "only" 15 hours

always making demands while not wanting to support anything

Right they complain about there not being games but only buy annual releases. But when a new game stops and it gets an 7-8/10 they won't purchase it either lol

The ps6 could be 2029 to 2030 at this point. The way the ps5 is selling with the price cuts along with component prices shooting up, there is no need to release a ps6 anytime soon. The ps5 pro can be the ps6 the next 5 years until the actual ps6 releases, especially after the pssr update. All of their exclusive games that were originally targeting ps6 are probably going to be targeting the ps5 now. The cross platforms were all going to be cross gen anyway.

Yes the ps5 will be supported a while after the ps6 releases, yet what was posted earlier about extending the cycle is a clue that Sony is considering waiting until around 2029 or 2030 to release the ps6. I don't think they were talking about support. Sony knows that a ps6 within 2 or 3 years could be $1000+ with all the significant component price bumps that are occurring and after seeing the way the ps5 and ps5 pro is selling at a reduced price, they are going to want that to carry over next gen and will wait whatever amount of time is necessary to release an affordable ps6.

:mjlol: the Ps6 is coming 2027/28. Start saving your coins now. The PS5 will also still be supported too like they have done with all previous gens. You sound like this is your first console release. They have been supporting the previous Gen for years after the new Gen releases. You don't just cut an install base off cold turkey like that. That's just silly

I never said the ps5 wouldn't be supported after the ps6 releases reread what was posted. I state in the post the ps5 will be supported after the ps6 releases. The price of RAM is shooting up crazy. You really believe Sony is going to release a ps6 that could cost $1000+ due to the RAM price bumps alone? What I'm saying is the RAM price bumps along with other component price bumps could delay the ps6. Sony could release the ps6 in 2027 or 2028 anyway, at the risk of releasing an overly expensive console. The ps5 and ps pro is doing amazing sales wise right now because of the price cuts with the ps5 pro selling at around the same rate as the week the pro released. That system saw a severe decline after the first week obviously because of the price. No way Sony sees what's going on right now with the RAM price bumps and the way the ps5 and ps5 pro are selling at reduce prices and don't consider possibly delaying the system to 2029 or 2030. The games this generation barely even utilize the technology available. What was stated could be 10 years of a ps5 cycle with support for the ps5 a while after the ps6 releases.

The pro model is a niche product targeted to a specific audience. They don't want it to sell 1:1 with the PS5. Hell the PS4 pro was seen as a success by Sony and it sold 5:1 with the PS4. Just because you're paying $500 for 1-2 sticks of RAM doesn't meant that Sony will. They have the economy of scale to purchase a larger bulk at a cheaper price point than the average consumer. At worst what might happen is they decrease the amount of RAM in the console. It was rumored to be between 24-32 GBs of RAM so they might throttle that down. Or they might just release it at a higher price point too. Even if it's more expensive early adopters will still buy it. Me included if the benefits outweigh the price. You think a multi billion company like Sony will pause releasing a product that they've spent hundreds of millions in development for your comfort? No we keep the ball rolling there's no need to slow down progress for your sake. Start saving your coins now or just keep playing your PS5 until you're ready for a PS6. Were full steam ahead!! :blessed:

That isn't really how these things work. They have these things planned way ahead of time, they can't just tell manufacturers to slow down for two years.

I wouldn't be surprised by a 2027/2028 release and I also wouldn't be surprised by a 1 to 2 year delay. The source of the rumored 2027 release has themselves said there could be a delay.

That isn't really how these things work. They have these things planned way ahead of time, they can't just tell manufacturers to slow down for two years.

That doesn't say they have already signed a deal with manufacturers. They could still be in the planning phases with no deal or the deal they signed is targeting a release in 2029 or 2030 as they themselves said the ps6 is going through the simulation phase.

The game industry has also grown considerably in size and they're able to earn considerably more than they ever did back then.

This is what should be keeping game costs down but we also have a lot of incompetent leadership and management.

Almost every single high profile failure in recent memory wasn't because of "entitled consumers" and more so ignorant
management, poor product and project managers and ballooning budgets that aren't tied to the game development but
instead marketing materials.
Gaming has a lot of issues on the consumer side but the people who're supposed to be producing/creating the products also regularly screw up.

Actually, the leaks saying PS5 is coming in 2027 have me just waiting to play all the Sony exclusives that are coming out as PS5 exclusives until they drop on the PS6. :russ: GTA VI as well.
