That scene wasI agree with the Collider crew. It seemed like filler at first but the last scene and Kallus having theface when no one cared he came back shows that it was a turning point for him.

I watch via stream so I don't know, do they usually preview the next episode immediately after?
They don't from the times I've watched live. I usually watch from Comcast OD now since they up the show up earlier than the broadcast.
They will put a preview up on starwars.com a day or two later.
That's my point. It would have had me hyped to know that right after the show.Also I think the Maul episode may be next week
That said the preview should be up at any point.

Chatter is that the ally is Maul and he might be the apprentice in Twilight with Ahsoka surviving for now. Harloff said its a great episode.

Also Ahsoka needs to survive for Ezra's development as a force user as well. It'll be quicker and potentially better being Ahsoka's apprentice rather than Kanan's (of course assuming Maul doesn't survive and turn Ezra to the darkside).

At this point Ezra is basically stronger than Kanan. There isn't much to do with that arch

Yeah obviously it could be Ezra, Maul (former Sith apprentice), Kanan (former Jedi apprentice) or Ahsoka (former Jedi apprentice).
Ezra not being Ahsoka's apprentice seems like it would be a missed opportunity. And given there are some parallels between Ezra and Anakin it would be interesting for Ahsoka in an Obi-Wan role to have deal with that and ensure Ezra doesn't fall ike Anakin. Also Ahsoka and Vader can have another showdown later in or at the end of the series. It doesn't have to be finished this season.

OT but to speculate on how fully trained and developed Ahsoka, Kanan and Ezra would have likely fit into the prequel era Jedi Order; I don't see a fully trained Kanan being more than a Jedi Knight, while Ahsoka and Ezra not only would have become Jedi Masters, but probably even Jedi Council members
