The concept was formed in 92' when Pac 1st met Stretch. the album didnt come til 94' :manny:

BONE didnt become BONE Thugs is 93/94 when EAZY gavem the THUG moniker.. :ohhh:

Pac wanted Thug Life to sign with Ruthless...but....Eazy had a group already called....

Guess what?

:steviej:

Seems your issue with Pac goes deeper than P swagger jacking Pac :mjlol:

The stylized bandanna that Pac incorporated into his image was not coined by him or prodigy. It was a style that was pretty much birthed in Harlem (or somewhere in New York, anyone can correct me on this). So I couldn't careless on what your opinion on this subject is. But Pac did popularized this in American pop culture, this is un-deniable.

I don't know why you're bringing up the "marketing machine", "east coast vs west coast", and so on. That is a non-sequitur. And to say "none was rocking that thug life album" is a straw man argument. None is talking about the sales for the album (it went gold by the way, so nikkas were rocking the album) im saying that Pac repped thug life, rapped about henny , and wore the bandanna around his head, ALL before Prodigy. You can't properly back up your points because what you are saying is not true.

:umad:
He's right that the Thig Life album didn't make any noise when it was out.

naw when them mobb deep nikkas were yapping about thug life, pac was in jail "thug life we still living it". And Nas suddenly hops on the thug life train after the release of illmatic. But Pac still repped that shyt in 93' waaaay before Nas and Mobb Deep.

That nikka is talking about irrelevant shyt and trying to pass anecdotes as facts. Plus nikka is yapping about jayz, funk master flex, east vs west, white people, pac going to jail, pac spitting at the camera (the one when he was wearing all red), and so on like it means something. Breh is straight delusional just look at what you quoted :mjlol:
People act like Mobb Deep made a song called "Thug Life We Still Living It (fukk 2pac)". :lolbron:
We are talking about a single adlib on the hook of Survival of the Fittest. An adlib that wasn't even said by P or Hav :francis:
An adlib that fits with the theme of the song as a whole. :francis:

Good points.

I dont agree with all.

Pac started to get popular after he got beat up for jay walking by Oakland Po Po..

He was out before Bone and well known by then.

Cube influenced many a mc..including Pac..so that kinda moot..

Just like Chuck D and the Bomb Squad influenced Cubes image and sound for AMW.

NOBODY was talking about the term "Thug Life" PRIOR to Pac...is what IM saying..

but

:salute:on the artist development assessment.

When did I say mobb deep influenced thug life, as an actual term in my rants.
I said what mobb deep influenced.
before it caught on in Pac fandom and in failed revisionist history.
I never said thug life as a quote or buzzword in my rant.
I tackled what the impact of thug life the album was.
When you skimmed my rant and did not process it in full.
Yet, I never said mobb deep were the guys.
who brought the ideology of thug anything to the forefront first in rap.
Maybe that is what people want to bring into the discussion from not reading properly.
Yet, all my info in anything thug life related is in regards to the cultural sentiment and times when THUG LIFE THE ACTUAL PAC RECORD was released and exactly what it was and how much of an impact it had.
Or, in this case at the time, the impact it did not have.
I even talked about bone being the sentiments ghetto non bboy rap fan favorite in all this as well.
Plus, how jayz's revisionist history marketing is also used in jealousy by Pac clone war stans.
To any and every Stan base, and they think no one knows how to kill the argument.
Yet, I do and I have and will continue to kill that pac clone war Stan bullshyt and what's funny is.
The real stans who learned the truth and fell back.
All, because they know the facts are all mums the word after that shyt was released.
all that fervor actually stopped and it is only misinformed and uninformed Pac fans.
who think and don't know the facts.
Who just think,...
Oh, it is a just a new time,...
When real talk, those transcripts cut all that bullshyt Pac clone war stans got to cling on to.

Yes a name variant from their original.

Yes Eazy was influential. and he did use the term hip hop thugsta in a rap, I agree.

Which leads to Pac creating a group henceforth
:troll:
T.H.U.G. Life an acronym for-'The hate u gave lil infants fukk everybody'

WHich subsequent came after the album Strictly for my N.I.G.G.A.Z which we all know the acronym for..back in 92'

SO with me saying that..its not far fetched he made the group shortly after the album.

Being on his acronym craze named thug life as such..Im just speculating..

Now as far as Eazy adding the Thug to Bone THUG and not signing Pac's group is completely legit..

IM just saying Pac was trying to define a mindstate of the streets and use it to power his music.

Whereas Eazy just switched the name of his group cuz it sounded better than Bone Enterprises and represented the street as well..

A lot of revision in here mixed with truth, first off on the intro to survival of the fittest where you hear p talking about out of space rhymes it was about redman and def squad which is why Keith Murray approached him outside that club. Prodigy only shifted his attention to Pac after hit em up. P was going at redman Keith Murray etc prior. As a matter of fact his verse on I shot ya was about Keith. Pac thought that ll song was about him which it wasn't. Then come NY NY by snoop and dpg over course cnn and mobb deep respond. That's when pac went at prodigy on hit em up because prodigy was an elite mc then. Then drop a gem came out on hell on earth album. Bottom line I'm going to make this clear around 95 from a listeners perspective pac won't on prodigy radar, he was going at more lyrical type like Keith Murray and redman. I don't think prodigy or pac were the first to glorify bandanas or henessey in the culture because it's been in the culture. Think about the 90s for a minute you had so many gangster movies with dudes wearing bandanas with alcohol, How do we know prodigy wasn't told to wear that shirt in the video? I'm sure there were people handling wardrobe for music videos. As a matter of fact if you watch redman I'll be dat video he has a scene where he's in qb some say he threw a line at prodigy there as well. Furthermore cube did influence pac but chuck d and ice t influenced cube but melle Mel created the entire lane. End thread

:stopitslime:How did nyc start the bandana trend when gangbang started in the chi and Cali? Now nyc had groups or gangs but i don't see them inventing that bandana trend. How you go from Adidas, tracksuits, cangos, and gazelles, to bandanas so fast? Rappers wearing bandanas was just a reflection of what was going on in the inner communities worldwide. I have a hard time believing either rapper influenced bandanas or henessey when it been in the community. There's a abc store in every black community in America Henessey been popular, now maybe these rappers helped promote it but they didn't make either popular because it already been in the black communities

Eazy gavem the Thug moniker.

Pac formed Thug Life before Bone got signed to Eazy.

Try again.
