This is because of COVID. The pandemic gave people a break from others and gave them time to evaluate their relationships and realized how toxic people are. They tend to only want to be around you to not be alone or want something and do not care about you at all. So people realized this and have decided to be selective with their time after the pandemic.

People only give you the time of day if they can benefit from you, at least with my experience. All relationships are conditional. Friend I gifted $50 to got into the habit of asking me for loans. When I ignored him but recently sent IG follow request he ignored it. He would have accepted it by now if I loaned him money .

With girls if you can’t give them the money, or a ride somewhere, you better have something unique or else you are worthless to them. Man, my own brother threaten to beat my ass and he stop talking to me for 8 months because I told this nikka to clean up after his dog (cuz there was dog turd all over the hallway) when I was over his crib.

I wanted to make a thread about it but it was too personal for me.

This is why I am also against "friends" and prefer acquaintances. We don't have to talk for months but when we do or hang it's all love. Just like you I had quite a few family do me extremely dirty. It's part of the system. Because of how connected we are, relationships feel disposable.

fukk it, cut them off, I'll find someone new. It's easier to meet new people through apps and events and media, but forming new relationships might be harder because pretty much every one is like "fukk it, block" "fukk it, delete".

Then there's the mindset of toxic relationships and friendships which often negate the fact that relationships and friendships should have some bumps or obstacles that need to be worked out at some point. Because no relationship or friendship it's 100% always perfect. And that's what people want. They want to meet someone new, someone different and be best friends or have a great connection quickly and expect it to last with no bumps or obstacles.

So what do you do? Cut someone off because they're "toxic? Or work through it and come out stronger in the end? Most people cut too soon.
