Nope, the answers are Lil Wayne and Kanye West.

Not saying Gucci isn't influential but he's not near those two. I'll never understand hipster magazines obsession with Gucci Mane and Cam'ron.
They exhibit the most ignorance , you know they prefer us in that light unless they're not in their presence and if they are they have security around the whole premises ..... I'm sleep tho :mjpls:

You make great points... but realistically... the most dominant for of hip hop today is without a DOUBT trap music... its even left hip hop and is heavily influencing EDM...

And really 'trap' music is just a style that gucci made up... it isn't like he was mad original with it, it really is a combination of what 3 six mafia was doing 10 years before, combined with what crunk was doing a couple years before, and then mixed into the drug dealling talk, with a heavy mixxing of slurred down south delivery... but he is literally the dude who put all that shyt in a test tube mixed it together and came out with a style... and now that style dominates hip hop... now when you add to the fact that he basically found half the young dudes that are popular on the scene of ATL...

without doubt if gucci didnt exist, 90% of the popular hip hop songs of today would not exist... how is that not the most influential...

answer me this... who sounds like lil wayne today? are folks using his flows and beat style? not really maybe young thug but thats it... now who sounds like gucci today... damn near three quarters of the rappers out there...

the industry direction was drake, jcole, kendrick, wale, that vein.. the sons of kanye... that was what the music industry put their money behind... everyone whos popping today who aint in that bucket is a son of gucci... thats influence...

most influential rappers of the last decade is kanye or gucci no one else is close

Gucci is no doubt influential, but "trap" isn't a style that Gucci made up. T.I. broke through the mainstream with that style back in 2003 before anyone even heard of Gucci. T.I. gave it an identity and helped establish it sonically with DJ Toomp.

Late 2004 is when you had Gucci and Zaytoven and Jeezy and Shawty Redd come through and upgrade it sonically. It wasn't as complex lyrically as what T.I. was doing, but more so along the lines of Ghetto Mafia was doing years prior.

2009/2010 is when Gucci started pushing what became THE trap sound. Beginning with Lex Luger, all of these other producers that Gucci was discovering started the influx of trap producers. Everybody started mimicking the hi-hats and the drum patterns to the point that it became the dominant sound in Hip Hop. From there it spread to the Euro club scene and spawned EDM trap. Now you have Pop stars using the sound too.

'trap' music is really just gucci's particular combination of the memphis sound with the crunk sound... plus if he was an A&R he would be undoubtable the most reliable talent finder over the last 10 years of hip hop...

he is a terrible rapper tho

Gucci is a talented song writer and has an ear for beats. That doesn't add up to terrible.
